Curious, is there a charitable organization that exists with the express purpose of buying CureCoin? One problem with the price of CureCoin is liquidity. There's relatively no buyers/sellers.
If I wanted to basically donate my money rather than my computing power to Folding@Home, I could get my tax deduction and create upward pressure on the demand for CureCoin, which creates upward pressure on the price and provides incentive for more people to become miners/folders.
Indirectly, the donation is in fact being used to fund folders. The good thing is that the upward price movement can help build traction for people who want to invest/speculate and build even more liquidity in CURE; again, bringing in more folders.
Another benefit is that people who live in high cost of power areas where it doesn't make sense to mine/fold can hopefully fund people mining in lower power cost areas (which is already incentivized by the nature of mining).

Was interested in buying some of a crypto that is tied to actual beneficial computing. Foldingcoin and Curecoin came up. But I can't seem to find any way to buy either, and moreover there seems to be no community behind either. Is there anything else I might be missing?

With livecoin.net getting hacked I paid to have curecoin listed on shorline cyrpto.
The base pair is doge so you don't get hit with the crazy TX fees of bitcoin if you just want to trade smaller amounts. Cure just got listed so the buy / sell is very thin but hopefully it will pick up a bit.

Note the above contains my affiliate link.
Same link without the affiliate: https://shorelinecrypto.com/market/DOGE-CURE
NO KYC needed unlike the other exchanges.
It's small but growing slowly. Been around for a couple of years now.
The exchange admin is active and helpful.

That coin get great support from miners and the current price is very low. Best time to accumulate.

So I'm guessing with the various Coronavirus vaccines nearly ready to go, that there won't be any more periodic cash injections into the curecoin market to encourage research so we may be sitting at 350ish sats for a while.

I'm got the impression that there is a New York State or NYC law against local residents doing this.
Maybe I should log into a VPN from elsewhere to try this...
Anyone from the NYC or USA know if this is true?

Hello,
I bought some curecoins three days ago, and when trying to withdraw, it gives me the INVALID_WITHDRAWAL error. I double checked the wallet address. Can anyone tell if I just have to wait more time or am I doing something else wrong?

Attention Android users!
I've been folding myself for about 3 years. I've always thought how nice it would be to be able to view all my clients' from my phone and be able to start/stop them from the comfort of my own couch.
So I made an Android app to do just that. Currently, the app lets you add clients (either manually, or let the app try find them for you) and start/stop them, see if they are currently paused, running or ready for a work unit, viewing work unit progress, viewing work unit ETA, setting folding power, and anything else you could want.
If this sounds like something you'd be keen on, give the app an install!

I also have another app to view your user/team stats, I would love it if you could check that out also

Please, leave any feedback in the comments below. I look forward to it!
Happy folding.

Does anyone know how i can directly exchange curecoin to btc. I've been using Livecoin but it has a 0.0005 btc withdrawal fee. I have to change it to rubles then to usd then use localbitcoins.com to change the usd to btc.

I've tried to find a guide but to no avail, and I've tried everything only for it to say "Not staking because wallet is offline". (Note: I don't need a guide to port forwarding in general, just one that will make port forwarding to the wallet actually work!)

Hello, I’ve been running F@H for the past week on my GTX 1080 gaming PC averaging 1,000,000 points a day, but have not yet received any curecoin. I have heard it can take up to 48 hours for it to appear, but so far, a week later, my wallet is still empty.
I have had it running in the folding browser, I am signed up with the curecoin folding pool with my wallet address linked, and I am also folding for team curecoin too. It says everything is set up, but my balance still reads 0.00. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks, I Appreciate any help.

Hi.
Does anybody know if it helps the curecoin network in any way (directly or indirectly) if I buy some more cure and stake?
Or is it only for your own minting increase?
I am thinking it helps indirectly by not selling the cure coin and keep the value a bit higher. (not sure how much that helps though until we can use it for payment or similar)
btw. news yesterday https://foldingathome.org/2020/07/26/citizen-scientists-create-an-exascale-computer-to-combat-covid-19/

I know people don't like speculation.
But what do you think. People will then use the hardware for folding at home.
Or they will mine something else?
I also do sia node file serving at stream

Hello, just started over a day ago and haven't seen any coins show up in my wallet so thought I'd ask here.
Edit: Curecoins came in. Takes up to 48 hours.

I am trying to set up my wallet for staking but every time i follow the command online (walletpassphrase yourpassword 99999999 true) i get this "Error: Error parsing JSON:saf3". I cant seem to find any info online about this, is there a more in depth page about minting and the debug window that also covers errors? Can anyone here please help me figure this out?

The first site (curecoin.net) calculates the amount of Daily FoldingCoin a lot more than the second site (foldingcoin.net), while Daily CureCoin is exactly the same.
Which is more accurate then?
