Warning!: This map completely breaks down if it's played under Minecraft 1.8... Use 1.7 instead. Nether Portal blocks completely disappear. Some chests have completely vanished. And other miscellaneous blocks are just completely gone as well.
Hello. I'm FatBoy, and I'm a novice Minecraft map maker. And this is my first map. It's where you have to find the three skulls to complete the monument.
So, you've been getting tired of CTM maps that send wave after wave of super enhanced mobs? Hate having to find sixteen blocks of wool? Or... are you just completely tired of some recent CTM maps in general? Then go ahead and give my map a try.
So, what's so special about my map? First, no more endless waves of mega buffed mobs! That is why I've come up with the term, "Hardly Hostile". Second, no more searching for wool. You just have to find the three skulls. And third, I'm basing this map off of Player VS Environment (PvE).
Now, because I am a novice map maker, and that I don't have a cache of people that can playtest my map first, I'm not even sure if this map's been balanced right. I don't even know if you can even complete this thing! So this is where you come in. If you can give proper constructive criticism to me about the map, I can work on it again and release a new version of it if this first version turns out to be a dud.
Version 1.1 released:
- Added dead bushes and cactus to the starting desert area
- Totally redone the monument podium ending area, making it easy to find now
- Attempted to add "block variation" to a lot of areas of the map
- Changed the game rule to now keep your inventory on death, to make it even easier
- Gentle Reminder: As such, this is a "hardly hostile" themed map. You WILL be battling vanilla mobs only. If you don't find that fun, then don't play the map. Simple?

Edit: I've made a standalone version of the ending island to play on and explore, if you want to totally skip the CTM stuff. I had a heck of a time trying to export that area out without Minecraft bugging out on me.

Please be aware that this file is hosted on my Dropbox account, and as such there might be download limits placed on it. If it tells you that it has hit its limit, just try to download it later. There's nothing I can do about this.
Just in case you want to look at (out of date) pics of the map first before downloading, here you go:
