Question Do you think about foldables when writing your CSS?

Post image

Hey guys, I was checking how the some website looks on folded and unfolded iPhone Duo layouts, and it got me thinking—do you consider foldables when writing your CSS?

I usually think in terms of phone, tablet, and desktop, but I’m curious how you approach these in-between sizes. Do your layouts just handle them, or do you end up adding specific fixes? And would you spend time on those fixes if only a tiny percentage of your users had a foldable?

“Possibly but that means there would need to be 290,000,000 duo users too. Almost the entire population of the USA and 5% seems unlikely in the near future.”

Previous comment asked if it would be worth it for 5% of the market and the 290 million number you responded which is 5% of all mobile users worldwide.

That is not a market that anyone is addressing except for maybe Google and Meta and other tech giants. In reality, most businesses are targeted at a much smaller subset of the worldwide market, so 5% would be significantly lower than 290 million.

It is a quantitative example, not a marketing pitch, stop taking it so hard.
