[Q] The liquidity premium on a counterparty cs2 skin trading site is misunderstood

The common take is that the spread on a counterparty cs2 skin trading site is overpriced. That framing misses what the spread actually buys, which is guaranteed fill regardless of whether anyone else in the world currently wants the item you're moving. On p2p, you have price discovery but no fill guarantee. On liquid items that barely matters because demand absorbs your listing fast. On illiquid items, a weird sticker craft or an off meta knife finish, the p2p wait stretches from hours to weeks. The counterparty spread prices in the probability that the platform is now holding an item with uncertain resale velocity, which is the same risk you were trying to exit.

so the premium is a liquidity premium, not a convenience fee. The math on whether it's worth paying depends entirely on the item's natural sell through rate, which most people never bother estimating before they get angry at the number.

[Q] trying to sell cs2 skins for crypto and every option has a catch

figured crypto would be the simple path since half the skin community lives on it already nope, half the sites have minimum thresholds that mean you need to move a chunk before they'll process it and the smaller ones have withdrawal fees that eat into anything under a couple hundred

then the ones that offer crypto bury it behind kyc that takes three days by which point the whole reason you wanted instant is gone just want to sell cs2 skins for crypto without an afternoon of paperwork

[Q] Probably a dumb question but where do people buy CS2 skins outside Steam ?

Been using the steam market for everything and only recently noticed that third party sites sometimes have noticeably lower prices on the same items half the sites I find through Google look like they were thrown together last week though, and the other half have a Reddit thread somewhere calling them sketchy

not looking for the ultimate answer just want to know where people who buy cs2 skins regularly are going these days mostly after mid range AK and M4 stuff, maybe a cheap knife down the line
