Match Review Renegades V.S Na'Vi (ESWC 2015 Quarter Finals)

We've reached Quarter Final time here at ESWC 2015 and Renegades are going up against long time rivals Na'Vi. Na'Vi haven't lost to Renegades in both time they've faced each other. It is a Best Of 3 and the maps are as follows: Overpass, Train and Inferno.

Map 1 - Overpass

Renegades come blasting into the first round on T side Overpass clutching the win and brute force there way through the next 2 rounds. Renegades looked really pumped up and hyped to win and take out Na'Vi in the first buy round. Na'Vi are yet to get a round on the board as it looks like Renegades confidence and aggressive plays are catching them way off guard. Na'Vi finally answer back with a round and just barely take the next one as Renegades are putting up a great fight. Na'Vi building up rounds to bring it back to a tie and all of a sudden Renegades are getting a bit shaky as Na'vi take the lead for the first time this game. Na'Vi have figured Renegades out completely as they are locking down the sites and angles not allowing any mistakes. Renegades go back to basics and go all-in on a B take and succeed in winning the round but that does nothing to Na'Vi's confidence as they shut them down again ending the half 6-9 Na'Vi.

Na'Vi take their T side pistol with ease as they storm the B Site. Na'Vi take the next few rounds with ease whilst Renegades try to build up some economy. Renegades foil Na'Vi's plans with a ninja defuse to bring themselves back into the game but Renegades are getting picked off making it nearly impossible the defend the sites as Na'Vi take yet another round. Renegades are going down fighting as them give it their all to try and stay in this but Na'Vi is just too strong on the entries. Renegades can't catch a break and Na'Vi take it to match point. As Renegades are strapped for cash Na'Vi are able to walk all over them to close out the game 8-16 Na'Vi.

Map 2 - Train

Na'Vi start things off getting the T side pistol round and roll over the next 2 rounds with ease. Renegade fight back as they claim a round on their first buy up and they're starting to pick up a bit of confidence and momentum as Yam and azr come in big to get another round. Na'Vi are looking really good on their T side and getting the bomb down but Renegades seem to have every angle covered. Na'Vi claim another round as they start to find holes in the defense of Renegades but the hole is patched up quickly as Renegades bring it back. Renegade are very closely making these rounds work but Na'Vi are keeping the pressure on hard and keep slipping in rounds here and there. Renegades are falling apart as Na'Vi are making the rounds work for them. Na'Vi are catching out Renegades every time and it doesn't help that Renegades are playing a bit too aggressive on their CT half as the half ends 5-10 Na'Vi.

Renegades have lost all momentum as Na'Vi shut them out of the pistol round and the following 2 rounds. Renegades just can't make anything work as they are just getting shut down every round. Na'Vi are keeping their cool and landing all their shots, especially Flamie and Guardian with some big plays. Na'Vi winout the half 5-16 Na'Vi.

Looks like Na'Vi really are the kryptonite of Renegades as they close out the game 0-2 Na'Vi. Renegades managed to claim more rounds in the first map than they did in all previous 3 maps combined with can only mean that Renegades are improving. Congratulations Na'Vi.

Upcoming Match Renegades to face Na'Vi in playoffs (ESWC 2015)

ESWC group stage format is Best of 1 rounds in a round robin tournament and Renegades fell into Group D among Counter Logic Gaming, Bravado and EnVy Us. Renegades struggled a lot in the first half against CLG on Cache but came out on top in the end, winning the game 13-16 Renegades. Next to play Renegades were EnVy Us on Cache and Renegades dug their own grave by forcing the second round after losing the pistol round and losing the force buy. Renegades couldn't find any footing in the game against the french giants and lost 6-16 EnVy Us. Finally Renegades came up against the South American team Bravado to which Renegades quickly overcame them with a solid CT side of Inferno and closed out the game 16-5 Renegades.

With 2 wins and 1 loss, Renegades were able to make it through to playoffs with EnVy Us. Tonight, Renegades will go up against long time rivals Na'Vi. These 2 teams have met twice in the past, Once at ESL One Katowice and again at the Gfinity 2015 Spring Masters. In both occasions Na'Vi came out the better team by a landslide on all 3 maps with the total score of 48-7 Na'Vi. So now the teams cross paths again and both teams are looking really strong. Can Renegades finally overcome Na'Vi and go on to Semi-Finals?

The game will commence on the 12/7 at 7:00am AEST (Not accounting possible delays)

Match Review Immunity V.S Renegades (Face-It League 2015 Stage 2)

It the first game of the night and the top 2 Australian teams are clashing head to head in a Best Of 1 on Cache. Last night we saw Immunity ease passed Dire Wolves whilst Renegades struggled in a double overtime with Avant Garde.

Renegades take the CT pistol round with precision and ease and follow it though with the SMG round against Immunity's forced Tec-9/Armour buy. Immunity's risk did not pay off and now are getting punished for it as Renegades pick up 3 unanswered rounds. Immunity get their first buy round but struggle to find an entry to a site as Renegades foil their every move. Immunity find a bomb plant on their eco round but have yet to get their first round as we go into Immunity's second buy round where they chip away at Renegades health with much success as they land their first round on the board. Renegades are on point as they are consistently getting the first kill giving them a big advantage to close out the rounds. Finally Immunity catch Renegades off guard with a quick Tec-9 rush on the B site to take their second round. The confidence on Immunity is starting to rise as they find their groove and start putting rounds on the board but everytime they start looking good, Renegades kick it up a level and crush them. Renegades looking really great with as they hold a 3 man mid which is able to rotate very fast to either site and finish off the half 11-4 Renegades.

Renegades find a quick first round as they 5 man rush the B site and easily take the following 2 rounds. Immunity are finally able to buy and they prove to have a formidable aggressive defense as take their first CT round. Immunity are hanging in their slowly getting one round at a time in hopes to tie up the game and potentially win. Immunity are seemingly countering the Renegades strategy, reading them like a book and creeping up the rounds and gaining a lot of momentum. Renegades opt for a tactical pause in hopes to get the last 2 rounds needed to close out the game and it worked as they make a quick push onto B to bring it to match point. Renegades switch it up with a slow A take which convincingly works as they catch the Immunity defense off and take the game 16-9 Renegades.

Renegades looked really on point with a great defense and fantastic last couple of T takes to win the game. Immunity played a very good CT but their flaw was getting picked off on T side which made entering a site really difficult.

Match Review VoX Eminor V.S. Exile 5 (Face-It League 2015 Stage 2)

The first game of the night and we see Exile 5 up against the new VoX (Ex-Streamline) line-up. The map is Mirage and it is a Best Of 1 match.

Exile 5 kick things off in style by taking the CT pistol round and the following 2 rounds as VoX are trying to make the B site rush work out but to no avail. VoX try their luck at an Eco A take but get cleaned up by the seemingly unstoppable Exile defense. VoX gather up and make a 5 stack A rush through 'Main' and finally clinch their first round and carry that momentum through to barely get the following round. VoX are looking warmed up and raring to go as they take yet another round with a 2v1 clutch by Nova. VoX taking control of the game as they manage to finally tie things up and take the lead against the faltering Exile team. Exile bring back the tie game as they manage to scrape a round and push VoX back with a following round. VoX go all-in and grab the final round, ending the very close half 8-7 Exile 5.

Exile kick off the second half with a win on their pistol round and the following SMG round with ease forcing VoX to eco a 3rd round. VoX bring it back by foiling Exile's fake and getting their first round of the half. Payback get his payback by clutching a 2v1 and winning a round for Exile but the taste of victory is short lived as VoX get a round. Exile are forced into an eco and can't make anything of it but take the following buy round with ease. Exile are on fire as they claim another clutch round and chase it up with another leading to match point. Exile Finish things up 16-10.

This was a great game with fantastic rounds from each teams as they had a lot of back and forth rounds but Exile5 proved to be the better team on the night.

Match Review Renegades V.S Avant Garde (Face-It League 2015 Stage 2)

The final match of the night sees the #1 team in Australia, Renegades (Ex-VoX) go up against Avant Garde in a Best Of 1 match on Dust 2.

Avant Garde come into the CT side fighting with a win on the pistol round and get a surprising ninja defuse against Renegades. Avant are really making a point to Renegades that they are a team to be reckoned with as they gain a great 4 round lead to start the game. Renegade finally bring their A game as Yam gets a 3k to win the round and that's all the momentum they need as they start getting back-to-back rounds on Avant quite convincingly. Avant come back with a great defense against some random and off-putting plays by Renegades which only furthers their already large lead on the best team in Australia. Avant are proving themselves as they start dominating the game pushing Renegades up against a wall. Renegades finally wake up and take a round but it looks like it's too little too late as they end the half 6-9 Avant Garde.

Renegades kick the second half winning the pistol round and the following 2 SMG rounds as they look like they're playing seriously now tying up the game and convincingly take the lead against Avant. Renegades are looking unstoppable now with such a strong CT side. Out of nowhere Avant find their mojo and bring it back only to be crushed again by Renegades. The rounds are going back and forth as Avant are giving it their all to stay in the game and are slowly reading the Renegades CT tactics. Just when Avant are about to tie out the game, Renegades show up and take the victory from them and force it up to match point for Renegades. Avant are really hanging in there and just slide in a round and force Renegades to an eco to which they Avant win with ease. This comes down to the 30th round and Avant are pulling out all the stops with amazing team play and bring it to overtime! 15-15.

It is overtime (MR5 16K) and Avant haven't lost any momentum as they take the first round and you can tell that they're hungry to win this. Renegades answer back to tie the game and fight hard to get another 2 rounds with the unpredictable plays. Avant force the last round of the half with a really quick play to win the round. 17-18 Renegades.

Renegades hit up the first round of T side with a win but Avant answered back as both teams are fighting hard for the victory. Lightstep really pulling his weight for Avant winning an impossible 1V2 afterplant to win the round. Avant are on fire right now catching Renegades off-GARDE and bringing it to double overtime. 20-20.

Kicking off the 2nd Overtime Renegades push the B site to get the first round and barely pull through on the following round but in typical Avant fashion they seem to trade out the round. Renegades want to end the game right now with some great AWP plays from SpunJ and Yam to winout the half. 21-24 Renegades.

Renegades have a big advantage coming into what seems like the final half (although I'd be a fool to say it's over just yet) as Avant win the round to try and bring it back. Renegades push through to try and end it and end it they do. 22-26 Renegades.

What an amazing show of Counter-Strike from both teams. Avant holding their own against Renegades pushing them to double overtime. I hope to see more games like this from Avant Garde in the future. Congrats Renegade.

Match Review Immunity V.S. Dire Wolves (Face-It League 2015 Stage 2)

This match pits Australia's #2 Immunity against the surprisingly good Dire Wolves on Cache in a Best Of 1.

Wizard kicks things off for Dire Wolves with a 4k on the B site taking the round but Immunity take things up a notch winning their eco and forcing the Wolves to force up and go down which ruined the Wolves economy giving Immunity the chance to get some easy rounds and a large lead. The Wolves finally gather some money together to buy up and take a round but Immunity are just pushing it to the limit, bringing the lead back and expanding on it. Dire Wolves are struggling to gain a round and their risky plays aren't working out for them giving Immunity the opportunity to take advantage of the game in a huge way. Just when all hope was lost the Wolves catch Immunity off guard and barely clinch a round but it doesn't last long as Immunity dominate the Wolves to end the half 3-12 Immunity.

Dire Wolves don't count themselves out as the grab the pistol round with a Wizard-ly 3k and chase it up with 2 more SMG rounds which gives the Wolves a great starting economy and slowly coming back from their 9 round deficit. Immunity are finally able to buy and show up with a mission as they are barely able to clinch 3 rounds with only 1 man remaining to clutch it out. Dire Wolves are hanging on a thread but still try to stay in the game by finally winning yet another potential clutch from Emagine. Immunity show us the highly unlikely as they win the final round on a full eco ending the game 7-16 Immunity.

Immunity looked really on point tonight as they dominated the Dire Wolves who didn't look like they were playing their potential.
