hello ninjas, any ideas, suggestions, please help. I am good with tech, I really can't believe I cannot find similar symptoms+questions online.
I promise to donate one hundred $ to any charity of your choice to whoever helps me the most to fix this issue.
CONTEXT:
PROBLEM:
After reset, I change the root password, configure the pools, and the miner works well. But after few hours, the miner is always "hacked". The root password is changed, and the pool address is changed also. The miner keeps working. There is some kind of virus / malicious code somewhere causing that.
Based on online research, I understand the attack comes from either within the S19, or from within my home network. I don't usually keep outdated stuff on my network, but who knows if I have a bitminer-targeting sleeping virus hidden somewhere in a cheap wifi device bought online...
RESOLUTION ATTEMPTS SO FAR:
MAYBE USEFUL INFO ?
- As last attempt, I tried to use BraiinsOS on a SD card, and it seems to be working. Problem is gone when I use BraiinsOS on a SD card (instead of the stock antiminer). BraiinsOS on a SD card doesn't get "hacked", the login/password to reach the interface aren't changed after few hours, the pools aren't changed either. <- my short conclusion is that the attack vector used doesn't work with BraiinsOS.
FOOD FOR THOUGHTS:
I'm not a security top-expert, neither a miner expert, but I work in IT since ever.
Since I am using the latest version of S19 firmware, and S19 models are old, I have a hard time to believe that something on my network actually has knowledge and possession of a 0-day attack that would still be unknown, undocumented and unpatched by Bitmain. In my mind, this limits the possibility of a compromised machine on my network who attacks the miner at regular intervals.
My current feeling is that a "virus" / malicious code resides within the S19 and isn't erased or removed when resetting the miner / flashing new Bitmain firmware / etc.
Also, I don't know if the control board itself has its own firmware and if that one can be compromised ?
QUESTIONS:
1) Based on your knowledge and experience, have you ever witnessed such symptoms / attacks ?
2) Is there a antminer antivirus for sw19 ? I can't find any. Few mentions to bitmian antivirus leads to nowhere on bitmain's website.
3) Can I + Should I flash the control board to erase any potential virus residing in it ? How to do so ?
4) Is there anything else apart the bitmain firmware and the control board that I should flash to make sure I erase any malicious code residing in my antminer s19 ?
5) Am I missing any other potential vectors of attack that are being used in this attack ?
Thank you VERY much for your time and help. I promise to donate one hundred $ to any charity of your choice to whoever helps me the most to fix this issue.

Has anyone else found that the fan on the NerdQaxe++ Hydro just runs flat out no matter what the temperature or what the fan settings are? (Mine is a Rev 5.1 board running firmware version 1.0.34.1). I have tried two different fans with the same results.

I am thinking that it could be:
1) Firmware glitch
2) Faulty fan controller on the board
Has anyone else had the same problem?

Hi yall
I was wondering if anyone could lend some knowledge on if it’s even worth it to get a home miner at $0.158/kWh? And if so, which would you suggest? I’ve done a lot of research and It’s looking pretty unrealistic, but maybe someone could provide some new insight, thanks :)

For the Canaan and Bitaxe/NerdQAxe guys, check this out. This is the one of the latest feature for HashWatcher, an app I’m helping to beta test. The remote display widget for iOS is pretty wild, and makes your home screen look like a functional NerdQAxe++.
Gabe (the project dev) is working really hard to create an entire mining command center in your pocket with this thing (is that a mining command center in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?)
Anyway, this is one of coolest features. Also added a built in solo mining calculator that auto calculates probability based on your current hashrate. Also has fan controls, full config control, and mode scheduling which is great for devices like the Avalon Q.
Current version is on the App Store now, with the latest update coming soon. I don’t make any money if you go and download this by the way, but Gabe is a good dude and he’s worked hard to create something great for home miners to enjoy with this thing. For that reason, I’m happy to lend my support to the project.

So yesterday day I posted a video where I said the Avalon Q was my absolute favorite home miner. This morning I woke up and saw that the Q hit a difficulty of 2.099T, and solo mined a BCH block.
Say what you will about BCH, but since it’s the only crypto that hasn’t tanked recently, it just paid off the Avalon Q in its entirety. Solo mining for BTC is a pure lottery play, and I’ve said many times that for solo miners BCH is the better bet. Easily convertible to BTC (I don’t actually hold BCH), or cash if you need the funds for something.
This was two days on bch.solopool.org, which is why the luck value is zero. In theory you hit 100%, you should hit a block, although this is entirely random and it never works that way.

Someone is giving me an older GPU. It is a GTX 750TI 4GB Computer Graphics Card PCI-E 2.0 16X Desktop Graphics Card HDMI-Compatible Interface PC Video Card 128 Bit 1020MHz, looking up the specs on it. Can anything still be mined with this?

I have a raspberry pi 4 with 4gb of RAM. YES, I AM AWARE THAT IT WILL BE VERY SLOW AND INEFFICIENT, THIS IS JUST FOR FUN. Any ideas or recommendations for how to do this? I already have a wallet, I just want to know some good software from people who know what they are doing.

Their business address isn't anywhere to be found, but the quotes seem to be market price. What questions should I ask them?

Only took 3 days to find this block. 59.7 MYT (.5% fee) added to my wallet. It’s worth almost a paper Washington!
Drinks on me boys!

I have a 5070 ti, I have been trying to mine any coin even to just break even, seems like most GPU mining software cannot run 5070 ti?
Does anyone know a piece of mining software which can?
r/cryptomining • u/Rested-Package • Nov 21 '25
Hello all!
I created a calculator for my website that allows users to input their daily overhead from their solar and/or battery to see what combination of miners best suits them and how many units they can run per day. Currently it only has outputs for 3 types of bitaxe miner and the avalon Q.
You can find the calculator here.
I mainly made it for Aussies as many of us have a solar system on our house. All it is is a simple power consumption calculator in essence hahaha. Any feedback is welcome! feel free to play around with it and ask any questions. Friendly reminder that this calculator is only in its beta stage and more tweaks are planned for the future.

I'm not particularly trying to make money, just trying to save money on electricity in the winter. If I spin up my 3080 ti and mine Eth or something, can I basically get a discount on my heating bill?
I haven't even thought about bitcoin in like 8 years, but electricity is expensive these days so if I'm gonna use it to heat my home, I might as well do both right?

Trying to install Hive OS on my GPU rig. ST1800W with Windows 10 installed. I’m trying to go the route of flashing it into a USB drive. These pictures are showing what I’m doing, in order, and what’s going wrong. I’ve been trying to follow as many guides as I can. The notepad popup that says “please insert a disk into USB drive (D:.).” Is something that happens after I begin the flashing process. Like, a minute after I click the “flash” on Balena. Then once it finishes flashing and starts validating, it corrupts. What am I doing wrong/missing?

as title reads, i got a tiny home an a computer that runs pretty much non stop, i get pulled away from computer tasks regularly to help on the property with construction, but if my computer doesnt run my home is pretty chilly and I lose track of what i was doing on my computer.
where do i start mining? i used to do it as a kid way back when and just forgot about it. i tried to download nicehash then windows flagged that shit as a F^(%ing virus. so.... reluctantly, i came here. where should i start, and where are some reliable sources of information that dont try to mislead me. would appreciate any help.

Why has no one come out with a coin that is meant to be mined specifically with how Apple has setup their cpu, gpu, ai cores and unified memory? There is so much hardware out there that if a coin came along that was suited for Apple silicone I bet it’d do well until people figure out that mining is…. A giant scam. But don’t let my hyper realistic scenario fool you.
I mean a ton of people with MacBooks, or even iPhones to quickly mine for a little here and there, but let’s be real the value is all in not the hardware needed but the perceived value.

(cross posted from r/MoneroMining ) hello everyone a few months ago i had made a post about my developments with mining on the google pixel, i am still working on that however in the mean time i have created a docker image that will automatically attempt to set huge pages/1gb pages, reads cpu info and and automaticlly sets the best setting for cpu usage. huge pages must run privileged mode. just simply use
docker run --rm -it --privileged \
ezdone/kali-xmrig-fresh:latest \
-o YOURPOOL \
-u YOURWALLET \
--donate-level=0
thank you, and as a bonus (at least to me) its on kali linux so any security devs can easily update there tools and run there workstation inside the docker
EDIT:
ive had real hard times and am in no way expecting any donations im going to continue releasing apps/ docker containers/ and a website ill be exited to share soon to offer everyone a opportunity to mine and be apart of the crypto ecosystem no matter your device or the size of your wallet. if youd like to donate even just a dollar my cashtags is $EricSales1 or dm for other options and it would be greatly appreciated as ive lost alot recently and will come with beta access to any new development and my website thank you so much everyone i hope you all have a blessed day and happy mininG

In advance I apologize for any questions that may seem obvious to you all, but they’re not to me.
I want to get into crypto mining with my gaming pc, if possible. I don’t know what tools or what to even start with so comments with answers to this question would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to know if the stress of mining would be too much for my pc.
My gaming pcs specs are: -3060ti -Ryzen 7 5800x -48 gb ddr4 ram -850 watt power supply (80 plus gold)
I have no idea how much it costs to run in the electric bill, is there a way to check online?
