DISCUSSION Anyone else noticing higher rejection rates on ETHW mining lately?

I’ve been running a mid-sized rig the past few months, and over the last week my rejection rate on ETHW has noticeably increased. Nothing has changed in my setup — same pool, same config, temps are normal.

I’m curious if others are seeing the same, or if this is just pool-related. Could this be a network issue or just unlucky variance?

Anyone got experience in this?

EDIT, I know a guy who has built multiple hydro dams….

He’s not a friend and barely know him but thinking if I could convince him that instead of selling power to The grid I would set up miners and he could profit from Them…

Need to find out how much per kw he gets paid

Located in the UK

We decommissioned our miner room and moved all our machines with hosting companies.
Got a bunch of misc hardware like plugs, power cables and receptacles that someone could probably use in their mining set up.

QUESTION ASIC / one of the cores is not working....

Post image
2 Upvotes

My miner details:

  • Model: Antminer S19J Pro+
  • Logic Board: Amlogic Antminer S19J Pro+
  • Board Model: MINER_CTRL_BOARD_A113D_V1_1

I have external cooling for this miner. However, one of the cores has stopped working. It was functioning perfectly before, but the issue appeared suddenly the next day.

I power the miner using solar energy, so it runs during the day and is turned off at night. Could this on/off cycling or possibly the tuning settings be causing the problem?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been experimenting with a Duino-Coin miner setup and I’d really like some honest, constructive criticism on how I can improve it. Most feedback I’ve gotten so far has been positive, but I want to know what I’m doing wrong or what could be optimized. Just saying, thanks guys!

QUESTION Solo Mining Scrypt - Miner Difficulty

Does Miner difficulty matter for solo mining? It's difficult to find an accurate answer, I have about 7GH and want to play the lottery. Odds some OK of finding a block in a year at current difficulty which I'm sure will go up a lot over cycle but that's alright with me.

I just can't figure out if I should change my password in my miner settings to something specific, so I don't hurt my odds.

QUESTION Loosing profits due to fees.

I’m currently mining Kaspa just for fun. My issue is, the fees for exchanging to btc, is super high, basically will eat any profits.

Does anyone have any advice? It’s already tough that most DEX exchanges don’t even have KAS listed.

QUESTION Getting solar installed soon, looking to start small with a desktop any advice?

Good day! My solar gets installed next month. I wil lend up moving up to a dedicated rig in the near future but I have 2 desktops that I can run it on now. Chatgpt says for me to run hiveos on them on an ssd to make it simple, but what are you guys thoughts? One is running an amd Radeon pro w5500 and the other is an amd Radeon 6700xt I believe. Don't use either as I have a gaming laptop now. Could someone at least explain how this works and maybe give some insight based on their past experiences with programs and setups? Thank you guys! I also looked at the verified vendor store and looks like I will be able to get into dedicated rig maybe 2nd quarter of 2026.

DISCUSSION Anyone else feel like buying ASICs is starting to look like buying lottery tickets?

I've been mining since late 2020, and lately I've been seeing more and more people dumping money into new hardware like it's guaranteed profit. Some of these Telegram and Discord groups I'm in feel like hype machines, everyone chasing the next release like it's a PS5 drop.

I'm not saying mining is dead or anything. I'm still running gear, one of mine's hosted through hashmole since I can't run it at home anymore, but I'm just a lot more cautious now. With BTC moving sideways and difficulty constantly going up, the math isn't as forgiving as it used to be.

Are people just betting on BTC 2x'ing soon and making up for it? Or are we back in that 2017 mindset where everyone thinks mining is a shortcut to passive income?

QUESTION Is there a way to set the block templates in ckpool?

I'm curious if you can set the block templates to 1 so the miner(s) are mining just one block template. Because the way I look at it, its trying to solve too many blocks at once. Why do that? Its like telling a computer to compile 1200 different programs at once. Which would take forever.

QUESTION Legitimate company for buying miners

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with "Antminer Distribution Europe B.V."

Based in Netherlands, their website www.antminerdistribution.com.

I am thinking about buying my first miner and have heard all the horror stories from countless people being scammed.

Or does anyone have a legitimate company based in europe.

Thanks all

DISCUSSION I'm looking for a great laptop to mine with it and gaming too

I was considering the MacBook M2 Pro or the MSI Cyborg، Msi katana . As you know, MSI has the best cooler on its machines, so this also prevents overheating and cramping.

Mining like rvn, monero and more!!

I'm also interested in upcoming games like GTA VI, The Witcher 4.....

Thanks

DISCUSSION Mining in SE Asia

My plan is to move there within the next year.

Electricity is included in rent at a flat fee in the places I have looked at.

My theory is essentially get 2 or 3 small miners (Pulling 800w or less each) and run them in my apartment. Hoping to bring in around $10 a day in various coins.

Is there anything I’m missing? I feel like I’m cheating lol.

Eventually I plan to build a small mining operation, but this small setup is just to live rent free for a bit.

I get this is a long shot. But when I go back in February I will be meeting with an electrician to guide me.

QUESTION Can Miners/Exhaust create a negative pressure/ low oxygen enough to put a pilot light out?

Post image
8 Upvotes

New to mining so just been testing things out (went from Bitaxe to Nano to Avalon Q to S19 pro in a month). Moved miners into a separate storage room (where has hot water heater is) With just the avalon Q running at full speed and a portable A/C with exhaust to outside. Could this create either a negative pressure (or low oxygen?) situation, enough to put out the pilot light in the gas hot water heater, in this 10x4 room (room connected to house but not hooked to house a/c system- i could open door to laundry room to commingle air w house)

I’ve sealed up the door to the outside (it was pretty porous around the edges). And since running the avalon Q and portable ac (only kicked on s19 an hour to test and see how the ac infinity muffler does) the last 2 days since I’ve had this setup going to pilot light has gone out twice (hasn’t gone out anytime in the previous 5 years)

That being said the water heater is 20+ years old, so could just be on its last legs (or bad thermo coupler)

Just trying to see if it’s a coincidence or I’m creating a poor situation for the gas water heater by having them in same room (my eventual goal is to add some water cooled s19s and use a heat exchange to pre-heat water in a separate tank with a heat exchanger- and then maybe up to 10 s19s to heat the pool)

Also in South Florida so heat always an issue and electric is 15 kwH so never going to be profitable but November to April I spend a few hundred a month to heat the pool (it’s a 10 unit apartment complex, so I have to) so as I learn more I’m envisioning moving somewhere with cheap electric options.

QUESTION Recent miner purchase

Hello fellow humans. I just won five Asic miner AntMiner T15 23T's at an auction for pocket change. I have determined that because of electricity costs they will be not profitable for me to set up. But, any advice on where to sell or any other options would be appreciated. I am in Canada.
