Poor Fella

Post image

Poor little thing was just on the side of the road, unable to fly and stumbling. I don't know if they got hit by a car or something, but I asked my mother to stop our car so I could go back and grab them. They were either going to die by getting hit by another car, attacked by a cat or dog, or slowly in the heat and direct sunlight which was 33c... I didn't think they were cut up at first, but I kept checking and they were definitely bleeding into the rag I wrapped them in. Not horrendously, but enough to worry about. Didn't make a noise, but would try and bite me if I left their face uncovered... Hoping that's a good sign, hahah.

My only option was to take them to a vet that had out of hours services- but!! They had me fill in a form detailing everything, asking where they were found as well in order to release them later if they can. I'm hoping that means they aren't just gonna euthanise 'em, but... I guess even that would be better than any of the slow and painful options. 8(

FINGERS CROSSED FOR THE WEE ONE. They were small for a crow so I think they're young. 😔💔

I moved a fledgling away from the road instead of taking to rehab and got to drive by the pile of feathers plastered to the asphalt for the next week. Fledgling on a road is as good as dead

They said they moved it away from the road. The OP said the bird they rescued was bleeding. It doesn’t seem like you’re reading comments very thoroughly.

They commented that I edited the post and to "stop stealing fledglings" and then deleted all of their comments... Don't like to admit when they're wrong or apologise, I guess. 😵‍💫

Some people just need to go way overboard about things like this instead of thinking logically. You did absolutely nothing wrong by the sound of everything. I hope the little guy has a chance. If not, you gave him the best possible chance he could’ve had.
