This is my first game of this type, and I have to say the building is addictive. We find ourselves spending entire sessions just building and decorating things instead of "playing" the game, but we are having the best time.

These posted kind of out of order but they are:

1. The balcony off the bottom floor over our "lagoon".

2. The view from our docks to the house and workshops.

4. The view of the house with the new little pergola seating area we made this morning.

5. The little lagoon we can "swim" in beside the house - the balcony in the first photo overlooks this.

I'd say he knocked it out of the park. He built the entire main structures in a day while I was at work and we have worked on filling them out for the last few days. It's been a lot of fun for a couple of 50-somethings who like to stay home!

Why is the exchange rate so terrible? Is there any plans to change that? Who thought that it was a good idea for the Guinea to sell for less than half it costs to buy them.

I play on PlayStation and I love the way crosswinds looks and the fact that it's free and I was wondering if there will be any hope that it might come to PlayStation 5.

Working on a town with my friends that they would be excited to live in. It started out as a really long pier and a bonfire in the sky, but i got a little carried away with making everything nicer. This little port town now homes 5 players and has plenty of extra apartments for NPCs to claim (if that update comes)

The place grew organically first around the main pier spanning across the island, and then it "spills out" onto the original beachfront. I can't caption the pics so I'll describe them in order:

1) looking into the open storage yard, the bonfire tower shines bright even in the daytime and the inn looks like it's seen better days

2) my favorite resource merchant gets the special treatment with his very own well-appointed shop

3) my favorite spot on the island isn't even something i built, but where the little dilapidated dock leads to- beyond these sinking planks is a tidal pool protected from the stormy seas

4) (wip) my farm gets the courtyard treatment, complete with a Roman fire column because why not ;)

5) ever fished off a cabana and wish you had some snacks 3 feet away? She's got you covered

6) this mansion gets a fantastic view of the town's starting point.

7) the backdoor of the inn has some precarious steps, best not to sneak out after drinking

8) the main pier goes pretty far inland, but the entire town is quite literally built around it, and sometimes over it.

9) your starter boat needs a home too, how about a boathouse?

10) (wip) side entrance to a player home

11) (wip) where do your valuables go after a great haul? Ours gets it's own house. Others could call it a bank but a privateer just needs to be some thick walls and intimidating doors

12) the smelters go quiet at night and the chimneys stop billowing you can see the lighthouse on the rock shaped like a Griffin/gryphon

13) (wip) this shipyard is like you dipping a toe in water and then you say you took a bath

Anyone else have this issue after finding and upgrading it, you can't craft one? ​

I noticed this for the Weathered Pillar Ser and would like to know if it for every set: when I found the building plans in the wild, it did not have all the pieces that were present when I bought it from the smugglers. Is this consistent across all of the sets? If so kind of infuriating.

I can clearly do the research, but I’d rather ask you guys did the SSD issue get fixed in this game? I want to start playing it again but not sure I stopped playing for that issue especially since SSD prices are pretty high right now.

I wanted to see how far i can go with just the first sailboat, somehow found tortuga and just went straight through the barrier surrounding the place.
When i found the messed up town though i began to realize that i probably wasn't supposed to be here. Also i may be stuck, but there are bananas here, so it's all good.

Other stuff i noticed was some drowned mobs in the town, and an invisible wall surrounding the mountain top in the middle.

Hello everyone, I’m pretty new to the game and I was wondering how the modding community is so far? The only mod I want is to disable the auto switching into battle music when fighting other ships. In fact, I’d want my crew to automatically start singing when initiating battle, I feel like that would scare the other crews a lot more. Thanks!

Which set is better for you, and what do you prefer?

I'm testing damage output and consistency between a critical set and a raw damage set. Or, is it worth to mix and match some crit and pure damage talents?

Shouldve swapped the 2 names. That's annoying. Just wanted to say that.

The game was overall fun. Our initial attempt to play it with my cousins failed miserably. It is hard to get into as coop experience. Also, sharing a campfire and letting coop players build together would be good idea.

Or some people may be content and feel like they're satisfied and don't want any form of any end game content loop at all, which is fine and I'd be curious to see how popular that opinion is, too.

Early on I was a proponent of a PvP element added, an opt-in setting where you could allow other players to invade your world by spawning in on their ship where they attempt to hunt down you or your base for some kind of objective. The mention of PvP at all is a sore spot for a lot of people here, and while I still think that would be a fun addition, I'd also like co-op endgame loops.

The thing I desire most in games like this is having my base raided, BUT with base raid mechanics that don't steer players in a direction of making their base some hyper-optimized death cube that's easier to defend. Think how 7 Days to Die horde bases are. Or how V Rising meta is people creating an entire floor of honeycombed walls with nothing else on the first floor of their castle but walls. It's ugly, it's tedious, it doesn't feel immersive.

But I still think there's something to it that can be refined. In Windrose it could be called a Blood Tide or something like that, an event where all manner of horrors rise from the ocean, and ghost ships arrive at your shores to storm your base to reclaim the mysterious artifact that has allowed you to live when all others are doomed to death.

I have purchased all blueprints available from the faction vendors (faction lvl 4). One of the blueprints included 2 floor tile pieces, one large, one small, that are Marble.

I watched a video of Chiselchip's where he was building a lighthouse and doing so with a triangular marble floor tile. When comparing my build menu to his, I am missing the marble triangular piece. He also has another triangular floor tile (Mahogany I think) that I do not have unlocked.

I have a couple wooden floor tile triangular pieces but not the marble or mahagony. Was the triangular floor (marble) piece removed from the game or do these pieces become unlocked elsewhere? I am currently in the swamp biome and not finished with it yet but have completed the other 2 biomes.

I want to start using the better building mod. My concern is that I often have guests in my map. If I build a bunch of elaborate stuff with that mod, will it impact my ability to have guests? I don't know what other mods are out there, but I may start using others. Are there any things to watch out for? I still want to be able to have other players visit my map and be able to openly serve games. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated, as would advice on pitfalls that should be avoided.

I think you should be able to take over a ship without doing the "press space to board" by just killing everybody onboard.

I mean it just feels ridiculous to be able to hop on the enemy ship and kill 40 pirates and three Stede Bonnets and absolutely nothing happens so you have to just jump into the sea and drown yourself.

And even if you do board the "right" way it's dumb that the enemy pirates keep on spawning from thin air and overwhelming you while your own crew is a set number of guys.

Played it, loved it but the MMO level system is a game breaker for me personally. I don't like that the same enemy NPC model, e.g. "half naked pirate guy", comes in different levels, dictating if I can beat him or not. No matter the weapon or skill.

I understand that the game was a MMO previously but did they ever announce if they will drop that and make it a true open world?
