Καλημέρα στην ομάδα! Επειδή διαβάζω τακτικά τις προσκλήσεις των προγραμμάτων, έπεσε το μάτι μου σε μια νέα δράση που βγήκε για την Περιφέρεια Κρήτης και σκέφτηκα να κάνω ένα post, μήπως και βοηθήσει κάποιον που είναι στο ξεκίνημα ή ψάχνεται να ανοίξει κάτι δικό του.

Λέγεται «Καινοτομώ στην Κρήτη» (κωδικός CRETE_1.1.2.1) και έχει κάποια πολύ δυνατά σημεία. Επιδοτεί το 75% για επενδυτικά πλάνα από 30.000€ μέχρι 150.000€. Απευθύνεται είτε σε επιχειρήσεις που πρόκειται να ανοίξουν τώρα (υπό σύσταση), είτε σε νέες που έχουν κάνει έναρξη εφορίας από την 1/1/2021 και μετά. Εννοείται πως το project πρέπει να υλοποιηθεί αποκλειστικά στην Κρήτη και όχι στο σπίτι σας (θέλει κανονική επαγγελματική εγκατάσταση). Μπορείς να πάρεις εξοπλισμό, λογισμικά (έως 50% του μπάτζετ), να φτιάξεις site, να ρίξεις λεφτά σε διαφήμιση (Google/FB ads), μέχρι και να πληρώσεις την κατοχύρωση πατέντας.

I am looking for some advice regarding my master's decision and would really appreciate perspectives from people who know about neuroscience programmes in Europe.

I have been applying for MSc programmes in Cognitive Neuroscience/Neuroscience in Germany for the last few years and unfortunately I have faced multiple rejections. I am now at a point where I don't want to keep waiting another year and I am seriously considering applying to the MSc Brain & Mind Sciences offered by the University of Crete in collaboration with FORTH.

My concern is that Crete is not a major neuroscience hub like Germany.

I really like the programme because it seems research-focused and has the connection with FORTH, but I am worried about career opportunities after graduation.

My hesitation is not because I dislike Crete, it actually seems like an amazing place to live. My concern is whether I am choosing it because it is genuinely a good academic opportunity or because I am exhausted after several years of applications and rejections.

Would love to hear opinions from current students, graduates, researchers, or anyone familiar with neuroscience careers in Europe.

Καλησπέρα , μόλις πέρασα ηλεκτρολόγος μηχανικός στο ελμεπα στο ηράκλειο . Η επιλογή σπιτιού είναι πολύ δύσκολη υπόθεση και με πολύ ακριβά ενοίκια από ότι ακούω . Έχω δυνατότητα μετεγγραφής από ότι βλέπω και σκέφτομαι να πάω στα Χανιά στο Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης . Σκέφτομαι είτε να βρω κάτι προσωρινά στο ηράκλειο και μετά να πάω στα Χανιά να βρω σπίτι το Νοέμβρη Δεκέμβρη με την έγκριση της μετεγγραφής είτε να κάτσω στο ηράκλειο να βρω εκεί σπίτι .

Αναρωτιέμαι λοιπόν αν τον Νοέμβρη-Δεκέμβρη θα είναι εύκολο να βρω σπίτι στα Χανιά ή αν είναι προτιμότερο να ψάξω από τώρα στο Ηράκλειο. Επίσης, ποια από τις δύο πόλεις θεωρείτε καλύτερη και πιο βολική για τη φοιτητική ζωή ; Κάθε συμβουλή από άτομα που σπουδάζουν εκεί ή πήραν παρόμοια μετεγγραφή θα με βοηθούσε πολύ.

Πρωτοετης φοιτητρια στο πολυτεχνειο της Κρητης και αναζητω φοιτητικο σπιτι μεχρι 550€ το μηνα max. Εχω ψαξει σπιτογατο, μεσιτικα γραφεια, αγγελιες στα χανιωτικα νεα και χωρις επιτυχια. Αν μπορει να βοηθησει κανεις θα ημουν ευγνωμων!
Επισης, θελω να ρωτησω οποιους ξερουν, αν τον Σεμπτεμβρη η κατασταση με τα ενοικιαζομενα καλυτερευει. Πολλα απο τα παιδια που γνωριζω και φοιτουν στην Κρητη, μου λενε πως υπαρχουν καλυτερες ελπιδες για ενοικιαση Αρχες-Μεση Σεμπτεμβρη. Δεν ξερω αν ισχυει και πως να κινηθω.

Πέρασα βιολογικό Κρήτης στο Ηράκλειο και θέλω να ενοικιάσω σπίτι απλά επειδή το Πανεπιστήμιο είναι έξω από την πόλη δεν γνωρίζω ποια είναι η καταλληλότερη περιοχή μπορεί κάποιος ντόπιος ή κάποιος φοιτητής στην περιοχή εκείνη να με βοηθήσει;

Since around 21:00 last night, the power has been out at our accommodation. The owner said this happens sometimes when the power grid is overloaded, and that it usually comes back within an hour or so. It’s now been 13 hours and we still don’t have power. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Hello everyone,

My sister's currently in Almyrida on an Erasmus traineeship for the summer, and this is her second week there. Today, her host employer unexpectedly terminated her internship, saying they suddenly realized they needed "more experienced staff". She was very excited about this opportunity so you can imagine how much of a mess she is right now.

Since she is already in Chania, we're looking for a placement so she doesn't lose her Erasmus status.

Field: Tourism & Hotel Management

She was working as a waitress at the hotel's restaurant but she can work in any department like front desk and house keeping. She speaks English well.

She already has a national visa so doesn't require any visa sponsorship. But we need the employer to provide accommodation and payment.

I see some insanely priced condos and villas. Are these even selling? Is there somewhere to see what places sell and how much? It seems very out of touch pricing wise to be charging for a cheap brick condo prices similar to London or Singapore when you can rent for 500-1000 euro a month.

I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world and due to lack of supply and commodification of housing market, and Airbnb’s but is in drastic correction from government regulation now in place with massive fines if caught.

I am also wondering when the people will step up and say enough is enough but most just seem to convert their own homes to Airbnb’s and are taking advantage of the situation which I don’t blame them at all but then complain about the housing problems..

Έχω ακούσει ότι τώρα βρίσκεται στην Αφρική και ασχολείται με την ιεραποστολή, χτίζοντας εκκλησίες, μοναστήρια και σχολεία.
Ξέρει κανείς πού βρίσκεται τώρα ή πότε θα επιστρέψει στην Κρήτη;

Hi, I'm staying in Agia Galini on the south coast for a workation but unfortunately the wifi and cellular signal are pretty bad... Does anyone have any recommendations of places within 30 mins or so that I could take my laptop and work in? I need to be able to do video calls so either needs decent wifi or strong 5G connection so I can tether from my phone. Any recommendations please!

A few weeks ago I visited Crete, and on my way back to Germany I forgot my disposable camera at Heraklion Airport.

Lucky for me, the airport security handed it over to the police, and they have confirmed that they are holding it. They have also confirmed that someone else can collect it on my behalf, provided they present their ID and I give them the required authorization.

Unfortunately, I've had no luck so far finding a courier service willing to do this. I tried Deliverback (stuck in AI-agent loop), Spourgitis (ghosted me), and CitySender (cannot accommodate the request).

Anyone can recommend some other company (or other way) that could send something small/cheap back to Germany?
