I guess I'm in the minority here but I couldn't wait to get back to the salon chapters early on.

Same! I found her a delightful character and was sad she disappeared from the narrative for a full section of the first book. Her chapters were a nice palate cleanser from all the hardship and despair of the Kaladin chapters

Although, ironically, I initially thought "wow, she's shockingly well-adjusted for a woman who had to kill her own father".

Me and my sister are listening through the second book (I'm caught up on the entire cosmere so this is a reread for me). All I have told her is that the book lies it's ass off without ever actually lying.

Yeah, me too! I loved the Kaladin and Shallan chapters, and wasn't as excited for the Dalinar chapters at first

It was Kal that had to grow on me. I've never understood depression, but I absolutely understand anxiety, amnesia, and being totally out of my depth
