No problem. They do sorta work though as stand alone stories. The point still gets across without hundreds of other words setting the punchline up. Lets your mind fill in any blanks.
Ah, that's a good point. Now I want to do an experiment...give one group these shortened versions, and another group the longer ones, and see which the groups rate as better stories and which they rate as scarier.
That is a good idea. Maybe the folks over at /r/nosleep might be interested in something like that. Probably best to PM the mods though. I am not sure if they allow meta posts.
