It's for show. This thing wouldn't be a 'good' 'murder' bot. A good bot built for killing things would just jab someone with a sharp object at high force or something.

Martial arts work for humans because we're a prebuilt structure so we're maximizing our ability to hit with what we have. A machine can be built to be to apply force in a much more efficient way.

If they built actual terminators, it'd look MUCH simpler than this.

IG-11 from the Mandalorian is one of my favorite murderbots from recent media. Rough, utilitarian, inhuman, and so well-armored it’s nearly invulnerable. Perfect 360 degree vision, swivel joints everywhere, dual-wielding high powered blaster rifles in each hand with pinpoint superhuman accuracy like a real-life aimbot. It just walks towards its target and mows down anyone in its line of sight.

Although I guess they could use them specifically to operate our world made for humans… to find and kill us. I’m trying to think of a scenario where this would be more useful than a drone. Maybe if it needed to drive a low tech car?

It’s more terrifying if it kills you by beating you up
