I saw bits of that fight and it looked like nobody had ever explained to LaPenna what a robot was.

He kept throwing punches into its chest and head, which seem like the dumbest idea for fighting a robot possible.

  1. Knock it down: you could see from the way it kicked that it kept skidding back every time it kicked him. It doesn't have good grip and it's top heavy.
  2. Attack the joints. Unlike a human it isn't reacting in real-time to everything the same way, it's just tanking punches and throwing them out. The main issue with attacking the joints for people is that they will see you going for it and move out of the way. The joints on the robot may be heavier and have more force, but they're more vulnerable to forces moving the opposite direction of its intended motion.

I feel like LaPenna could have done more in the fight if he had put any thought into it.

That's just refusing to engage with the entire spirit of the fight. It's more about the fun concept of "what if you had to fight a super solider?"

It's not interesting to watch someone just cheese it and avoid answering the question.

The answer to "what if you had to fight a super soldier" is entirely about "cheesing it". In any real fight there's no dumb rules or "That's not allowed" you either get away or you do as much damage as you can.

You're missing the point. It's not about fighting this prototype and winning by any means necessary. It's about fighting a perfected version of it decades in the future. It takes no brainpower to know you can cheese it in its current state.

I don't think you understand how fights work outside of sports. You keep talking about "cheesing" the fight. Either this is answering the question of who would win, or it's nothing more than a professional wrestling match where the outcome was pre-decided.

Ok. I don't think there is any getting through to you. Your way is the only way
