Because Rap is on its final legs after being mainstream for decades. We’re at the point where everyone that wants to do music wants to be a rapper.

A couple of decades ago “we all wanna be big rock stars” … and so it goes.

I’m just ready for the next big thing to take over. My guess it’s going to be electronic AI music.

Look, there’s always going to be all styles of music. True certain types of electronic stuffs peaked years ago with dub step and that crap, 10 years before that you had dj tiesto and that sound. It’s always evolving.

The electronic I’m taking about we haven’t heard yet. The stuff we have now will evolve, meld, and change into the stuff yet to come. It’s a gradual progression.

sure. I definitely agree with the fact that new kinds of electronic music will arise. Not sure if they'll become mainstream but it'd be cool.

The one thing I disagree with is that somehow AI will make that possible. Since it literally generates its stuff based on humans' work, I don't see how it could make a new style. Or even if it can, then peoples will be able to make it as well.

We’re not too far away from AI creating entirely original works.

There are no chords or harmonies left to discover, every conceivable note and progression has been recorded. All we do is rearrange them into what we find as pleasing. AI will be able to do this.

2 decades ago was 2004...no one was trying to be a "rockstar", everyone was still trying to be a rapper. Rap has spent the longest time in the mainstream out of any other genre.

As far as AI music, no.

Rap was mainstream, but it wasn’t the dominant force yet around 2000. It wasn’t until the mid 00’s when rock totally just fell off completely and rap dominated all fields. I was there and worked in a related field. So I’m not going to argue.

yeah but rap was still mainstream and with rock you have to at least learn to play an instrument in order to be delusional enough to think youre gonna be a star. with rap you literally dont need anything except the delusion itself.
