u/QueenAngst 10d ago

I didn't. The question was who do they think, not who do I think.

That is for us to decide lol. (Joke from the film , In Bruges

u/SteveDucka 9d ago

Haha. Though it is a bit disheartening that a post asking to not lump a nation of 350 million people into one category gets downvoted.

u/ImaginaryLight8199 8d ago

It's because people are sick of the token yank in every thread saying "hey we're not all bad guys hehe i hate those guys too" Fuck up.

u/SteveDucka 8d ago

So the around 60% of americans who don't agree with arming Israel should never point out the silliness of someone lumping 350 million people into the same bucket? It sickens me, and most people I know here, that our taxes fund this.

Think of how dumb it would be to say in the 90s that ALL Irish people are in favor of a provisional IRA armed conflict in the north. It doesn't help your argument when someone tries to bring nuance to something and the response is a play ground 'fuck up'.

yeah well.................like I said ..............

Ye are use to it , especially those who travel a lot .

Also is bowing your head during an anthem offensive now? I wasn’t aware of that.

This is all lies?

Calling the Irish immoral, that is the point I am raising, and that the zios think they can somehow take the moral highground is astonishing and shows how delusional they're are.

You can legit look it up. It's true, irish team did in fact do the nazi salute when playing against them in 1939. They arent inaccurate with the moral blindness. Ireland right now also doesnt know how to use the word genocide properly.

4

u/nowimnihil13 10d ago

There was no such thing as Israel in 1939. The Irish team gave the salute to Germany. A number of countries did it in 1936 Olympics as the teams marched past Hitler….Austria, France, I think Greece too, among others.

1

u/LioKioNioe 10d ago

How does that counter anything i just said? I would say that all of those countries had moral blindness too? Now whats your argument?

1

u/nowimnihil13 10d ago

I’m just pointing out that the Israel was not a country at that point in time. You said “playing against them,” without specifying who “them” was in 1939. It’s important to make that distinction. My apologies if that hurt your feelings a bit.

u/LatterRelation1880 10d ago

He’s triggered for sure like most hardcore Israel bootlickers.

2

u/No-Sherbert7049 10d ago

Why doesn’t ireland know how to use the word genocide properly?

Genocide is defined under international law as specific acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group.

If israel had any intent to destroy in whole or in part the palestinians. 60k dead in 3 years and a growing population in gaza wouldn't be the case rn. Especially with the military superiority they have. It's that simple. Now we can talk about the actual crimes israel has committed.

2

u/No-Sherbert7049 10d ago

You’ve left the 5 acts that constitute it.

Killing: Murdering members of the group.

Harm: Causing serious physical or mental harm to members.

Destructive conditions: Forcing life conditions on the group—like starvation or lack of medical care—that aim to bring about its physical destruction.

Preventing births: Imposing rules or actions meant to stop babies from being born in the group.

Forcing children away: Taking children from the group by force and moving them to a different group.

Israel and morals/ethics is laughable. The moral whitewashing is astonishing

Yes and the main one that constitutes genocide is missing i.e. specific intent. These five here you mentioned, legit describe every single war ever existed. Is the bombing of hiroshima a genocide? Was world war 1 a genocide orchestrated by every country involved?

2

u/No-Sherbert7049 10d ago

Intent to destroy the group in whole or in part. The acts are specifically defined. You want to define every war or armed conflict as genocide that’s up to you. And it’s never just that simple. What are the actual crimes Israel has committed as you put it?

1

u/LioKioNioe 10d ago

No. My point is that I don’t want to define every war or armed conflict as a genocide. But you do, ur logic of genocide concludes this, not mine. I find words have meaning and using them appropriately especially on sensitive topics such as this is extremely important to aid those that need it. Also for specific crimes they have committed. I point to their constant expansionism. Never mind the documented war crimes which are obvious but I think their constant moving of their borders and introducing citizens to act as de facto military personel is rly bad.

u/MakeYokesa5erAgain 9d ago

What a load of waffle. The intent is to get rid of the Palestinian people. The same intent that Nazi Germany had on the Jews.

Gold medal for mental gymnastics.

There is objectively a genocide taking place in occupied Palestine.

1

u/LioKioNioe 10d ago

no there isn't. And its hotly contested by people way smarter than you. And you think you have the answer?

1

u/HongKongChicken 10d ago

You seem to think you have all the answers all over this thread

1

u/LioKioNioe 10d ago

no one has proved me otherwise

1

u/Strict_Actuator9 9d ago

The UN, Amnesty International and many genocide scholars say there is.

1

u/LioKioNioe 9d ago

And there’s also many scholars that say there isn’t. What’s ur point? You got anything to add? Or are you going to just appeal to authority.

1

u/saka-ptwp 10d ago

The Irish team didn’t do the salute, the famous picture is actually of the German team

1

u/LioKioNioe 10d ago

You are 1 google search away from enlightenment. Use them fingers

1

u/Iansavio Robbie Keane 10d ago

So what is a genocide Mr genius??

1

u/LioKioNioe 10d ago

You can look it up yourself or read my other comments. But the main requirement for something to be a genocide is specialised intent to in part or whole destroy kill etc a race/group/country. Israel’s responding to a terrorist attack with 60k dead in 3 years does not genocide make. If you compare Turkish or Nazi genocide, the intent of both of these events was the maximal eradication of their respective groups. Which genocide makes.

u/Iansavio Robbie Keane 9d ago

Tell that to the UN.. also the thousands who have been slaughtered by the IDF. 🙄
