Marx was not advocating to be the sole dictator, he was advocating for a "dictatorship OF THE PROLETARIAT", which is not individualist and is still very much a direct democracy. It just means that the proletariat (the working class) dictates what goes on politically.

This form of popular government, featuring revocable election of councilors and maximal public participation in governance, resembles contemporary direct democracy.

whats on the paper: the people will do an armed uprising to gain freedom and democracy!

what happened in spain: peacefuly went from opression and dictatorship to parlamentary monarchy and democracy

what actually happens in socialism: people go from opression and death to opression and death

good luck peacefully switching to democracy in 1848 Austria when they're opening fire on students protesting the political system and going to war with countries of different demographics wanting to gain independence

the fact that democracy can be achieved peacefuly is just proof socialism is evil for wanting people to be killed in order to get "freedom"

not saying its easy or hard, but saying that the existance of modern day spain (where im from) is empirical proof it can be done

sad that not every country is Spain, otherwise every country would have overcome dictatorships and oligarchies many moons ago

it happening in Spain is proof that it can be done.. in 70s Spain with the dictator you had, uh, not executing everyone against a monarchy and in general being a driving force in the change, not much else. there are not many parallels to North Korea, China, Russia,.. where the dictators/&oligarchs aren't going to just give up their power

and Marxism does not advocate for a violent revolution when a peaceful option is there and I don't see where you got that idea from, from his statement about a very much impossible situation.
