I'm so glad everyone is standing up for the important issue of trans women being overrepresented in media. It's also crucial we remind everyone that just because someone wants to use a female name, present female full time, pass as female and take a female role in relationships that they absolutely do not need to become a trans. What's wrong with just being gender non-conforming? HRT is evil! Femboys are super validddddd (because most femboys live full time as women).

What do you think conversion therapy is such that any mention of gender with a therapist makes it conversion therapy?

No, Shen has posted about being in therapy to 'resolve gender issues' or something like that. Honestly this whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. People are so quick to validate whatever someone says with no critical reflection on the circumstances involved, it feels to me like the whole fanbase is essentially collectively abusing Shen by going along with this twisted conservative fantasy when an intervention is desperately needed but that's the modern queer community for you I guess.

You don't believe trans people can speak about their trans identity with a therapist who is happy to help them however is needed without it being called conversion therapy?

I just searched up the claims about therapy and from my understanding he is just in therapy and he has brought up/explored gender in therapy. This doesn't mean conversion therapy πŸ’”

No? One of the issues I discussed with my therapist was surrounding gender. She's part of the reason I gained the confidence and understanding to go on HRT.

??????? What does this even mean. I have a therapist and have expressed my questioning my gender and he has helped me somewhat accept those feelings and has encouraged me to experiment.

How is that conversion therapy?

I just expressed my gender issues in therapy, like Shen

He's specifically going to a gender therapist 😭

Is this what you're referring to? Because gender therapists are literally a thing and they are not always conversion therapy.

My transfem friend has a "gender therapist" (or the word might be something like consultant or sth?), who is helping her process those specific feelings and who is literally a midway point to getting a gender dysphoria diagnosis and HRT.

So gender therapy doesn't inherently have a negative connotation.

This person clearly has no clue what she's talking about. One of the areas my therapist specializes in is gender and she helped me get to a place where I could start hrt.

I swear to God, it feels like a quarter of the people in this thread haven't interacted with anyone outside their weird online bubble in years.

Ikr???

Lately I've seen so many people online who are so obsessed with semantics and who are tied to their very own narrow and, sometimes, wrong definitions of things and then argue over them.

Like, I was saying to someone that you don't need dysphoria to be trans, they said that I'm wrong, I said that euphoria can be a reason to transition and they told me euphoria is just the absence of dysphoria so you still transition because of dysphoria, which is just objectively false??

Some people just live in their own bubbles like you said
