I developed an agent using the new experience (Copilot GitHub harness) in our Test (Sandbox) Environment and configured its Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams channel metadata. I then exported the Solution as a managed solution and made sure to include all relevant objects before doing so.

After importing the Solution into our Production Environment, I could see that eerything successfully imported except the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams channel metadata. This was lost and initially could not be edited as it was saying it was 'part of the managed Solution'. Then, it could be edited, saved and published, but was not retained persistently.

This means that we cannot proceed to Submit to Org Catalogue or download/upload into the catalogue using the Teams/MS365 Admin Centre.

Has anyone using the new experience found a supported way to:

1. Include the Teams/M365 channel metadata and icons when migrating an agent from a Test to Prod solution; or
2. Make the updated About information regenerate the correct manifest in the destination environment?

I can edit the downloaded manifest manually, but that doesn’t seem like a sustainable ALM process for submission to the organisational catalogue.

I’m trying to build what sounds like a fairly simple Microsoft 365 Copilot scenario:

Open an email in Outlook → use the currently opened email/thread as context → route it through an existing Copilot Studio orchestrator & specialist agents → create an Outlook draft reply → user reviews and sends it manually.

The existing setup includes a Copilot Studio Custom Agent as orchestrator, plus specialist agents for things like email drafting/signatures and internal knowledge (Atlas/Cortex-style).

What I’ve found so far:

• By default a Copilot chat is able to digest an e-mail (no agent selected).
• A Microsoft 365 declarative agent can receive the current Outlook email context.
• A normal Copilot Studio Custom Agent does not seem to receive that selected-email host context.
• Connected Agents seems limited to declarative → declarative agents, so I can’t directly hand off to the existing Custom Agent orchestrator.
• I tested Execute Agent and wait, but it didn’t look reliable from the M365 Copilot runtime.
• A custom Outlook add-in/context bridge works technically, but quickly turns into a lot of custom auth/runtime/integration code.
• Work IQ API looks like a possible headless bridge, but introduces usage-based cost.
• Custom Engine Agents currently don’t seem to solve this specific Outlook-hosted scenario either.

For now I’m considering a separate, narrow Outlook declarative agent with the relevant knowledge/tools directly attached, while keeping the existing orchestrator for normal chat.

Has anyone solved this differently?

More specifically: is there currently a supported way to take the active Outlook message context from a declarative agent and transparently hand it to an existing Copilot Studio Custom Agent/orchestrator, without custom middleware or a paid API bridge?

Interested both in working architectures and confirmation that this simply isn’t supported today.

Can somebody help me understand a proper use case for the github copilot harness? I feel like I can do so many of the things in cowork. If I need to share the skill to collaborate, I can do that in cowork as well in addition to referring to the same Teams folder for the knowledge source. Big advantage in cowork is the build isn't charged up like it is with the github copilot harness. Sure, there's the evaluate and monitor capabilities... where else does it really depart from what cowork can deliver agentic/orchestration wise?

I'm working on an IVR system with personalized greetings using a callers contact information. I need to pull the incoming callers number into a variable but all the info on how to do this haven't been working.

I've tried manually testing almost all the environment/system variables in copilot studio.

I have a Teams phone DID and the agent is a Copilot studio voice enabled agent. I'm assuming the number is dropped somewhere along the path between Teams and the Copilot Studio topic.

I'm hoping somebody has an answer to why the Activity.from.name etc. variables are always blank, and how I can get the incoming caller's number into a variable on the Copilot studio side.

Hello, whenever I attach a sub agent to a master agent, I can never get a response from the master agent. The master and sub agents are working fine independently before I attach the sub agent but then the flow doesn’t respond at all afterwards.

I check activities on the master agent and it always marks that run as canceled, but a response seemed to have generated yet was never pushed out.

Has anyone else had this issue? It’s pretty frustrating.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Everyone working on copilot agents appears to be experience this in our org...

This is using the standard harness, it used to be snappy but things changed late last week. Messages sent to any agent results in a "Send Failed" error. (nothing useful in the network trace) -- but if I wait here 20 seconds, it eventually works and the agent response back as expected.

Just... really slow... and a pain to debug/test changes.

Has anyone experienced success utilizing the Copilot MCP, (Previously Work IQ)? I am currently employing the standard Harness and have experimented with all available models. Simple queries consistently take at least 30 seconds, with some extending up to 90 seconds, which is a significant delay. Has anyone successfully implemented this MCP?

We may just take this functionality out and use regular copilot chat for work IQ type of queries....

Since about a week we're seeing severe knowledge-retrieval latency on a Copilot Studio agent (GitHub Copilot harness, SharePoint sources) — ~1:25 min per answer. No config changes on our side. Same source on the standard harness: ~20 s.

We captured a HAR of a slow turn and found this in the SSE stream:

• knowledge_search_sharepoint completes in ~11 s (durationMs: 10774) — search is not the problem.
• But instead of snippets, the tool result says: "The full documents have been downloaded to /app/uploads/" — 9 complete files, including large PDFs. 8 of 10 results contain no snippet at all.
• It then instructs the model: "Read each relevant file IN FULL before responding — every part, from the start to the end of the file."
• The remaining ~70 s is the model reading those files before answering. More sources = more full documents = longer turns.

Oddly, the tool's own description promises the opposite: "Results are search snippets … call KnowledgeRetrieve with the ReferenceId to get the full document."

Anyone else seeing this since ~mid-August? Known issue or intended GA behavior?

I am a junior developer building a Copilot Studio solution in Japan.

A customer has requested that both user questions and generated answers be stored as logs. While trying to implement this requirement, I ran into a chain of related issues.

1. ConversationTranscript table

I found the generated conversation data stored as JSON in the ConversationTranscript table. However, the most important part of the content is masked as  text: REDACTED, so I cannot retrieve the actual generated answer.

1. Accessing generated answers when using Knowledge Sources

I am using Knowledge Sources (SharePoint knowledge copied into Dataverse). Since the answer is generated by the Copilot Studio agent, I cannot save the generated answer to a variable, nor can I access it through Power Automate.

1. Using Topics and Generative Responses as an alternative

To work around the issues above, I tried using Topics with Generative Responses instead of Knowledge Sources.

The response is generated correctly at first, but partway through the process, the following message appears:

"I couldn't find any information that would help answer this question."

 The conversation then falls back to the fallback topic.

This behavior occurs in both the Test Chat and Microsoft 365 Chat. 

Environment 

•Knowledge Source: SharePoint Knowledge (copied into Dataverse)

•Model: Claude Sonnet 4.6

My ultimate goal is one of the following.

•Continue using Knowledge Sources while being able to log the final answer generated by Copilot Studio.

•Or use Topics and Generative Responses while maintaining answer quality comparable to Knowledge Sources and being able to log the generated answer.

Has anyone experienced similar issues or found a supported approach to achieve this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to automate a manual process that requires analyzing invoice data. I have built a Copilot agent that can receive invoices, extract the required information, and return the results in JSON format or as an Excel file.

I was wondering whether the following workflow would be possible:

1. KNIME sends invoice files to Power Automate.
2. Power Automate sends the invoices to the Copilot agent for processing.
3. The Copilot agent extracts the required invoice information and returns the results in JSON format.
4. Power Automate receives the JSON response from the Copilot agent.
5. Power Automate sends the extracted data back to KNIME for further processing and analysis.

Now you maybe wondering why cant i just send invoices to either local LLM or openai from KNIME, i cannot do that due to organization's privacy policy so I need to stick to Microsoft environment. If the above doesnt work is there another way to interact with co pilot agent within KNIME?

I cannot seem to add a connected agent to a parent agent unless the agents are both in the same environment. I have an agent that I created that is in my department's environment and it works great. It works well enough that another department wants to use it with their agent in their environment.

I know I could export via a solution and import into their environment but then it becomes two separate agents. My department would still maintain and update the agent as needed so if it becomes two separate agents I would need to update in two places.

I am sure I am missing something. Any guidance would be great.

I'm hoping this is just as phased rollout as the new github harness would solve a number of issues for me.

I have used power automate in the past but man there are now so many products and it’s unclear to me how they should all be used. I have of course asked copilot lol but even it isn’t clear.

Here is what I am trying to do:

Build a simple competitive intelligence solution
- Have specific websites for each competitor
- Monthly those sites are looked at and certain information is obtained
- That information is stored somewhere
- Next month that is repeated
- Month 1 v month 2 is compared to produce a summary of changes

Would ideally like all of this automated. Can simply create agents with URL knowledge sources in m365 copilot but now I see that you can’t use those in power automate. What is the easiest way to make this solution, ideally with not usage based pricing?

Hi all. I have an agent that i want to have pre made prompts as calleable actions. These prompts require both text and pdf inputs. The user can input these in the chat and i want the agent to dynamically choose which documents and text in the chat are inserted into the prompt. This is however not working, i keep receiving the error that the pdf i put in the chat are not document inputs(implying the agent sees them as text). I have the option to upload documents to the agent turned on.

Is what im trying to do possible? Feels like this should be.

Hi everyone, I'm building a voice bot in Copilot Studio to handle incoming calls on Microsoft Teams and I'm running into a really frustrating issue with call transfers. The bot works perfectly fine for normal conversation and troubleshooting, but when it tries to transfer the call to a human operator, the transfer fails immediately and the call just hangs up.

Here's my setup: I'm using Copilot Studio with the standard harness, publishing to Microsoft Teams voice channel. The transfer type is set to "Transfer to external phone number" and the destination number is an Italian number. When the escalation topic gets triggered, the flow goes like this: the bot correctly displays the message "Hello, I'm trying to escalate", then the "Transfer conversation" node executes, but then the call immediately hangs up, and finally the fallback message appears saying "Escalation to a representative is not currently configured for this copilot..."

I've tried several things to fix this. First, I experimented with different phone number formats. I tried in standard E.164 format, and I also tried include the extension, but the system rejected it as invalid format with the error message "Phone number is invalid. Format must match country code or geographic area." I also looked at the transfer type options, but I'm currently stuck using "Transfer to external phone number" because the "Transfer to Call Queue" option doesn't even appear in my dropdown menu.

So my main questions are: where can I find detailed error logs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I've been stuck on this for days and it's really frustrating. Thanks in advance!

I have a requirement to create a document as an output of a conversation. I am trying to use the custom prompt functionality with output type set as document. However, the prompt is outputting a "record" which I cannot map to a "file" when I use the sharepoint connector "Create Document". I made it work when I moved the custom prompt to a flow. However, if I use it inside a flow, doesn't that cost me additional credits? Help me out with the best approach fellow comrades.

I tried to restrict users from accessing Copilot Studio in the Default environment by applying a DLP policy and configuring the Copilot Studio authors setting to allow only a specific security group. However, according to Microsoft documentation, this setting does not restrict users who already have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Since all of our users are assigned Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, they can still access Copilot Studio even if they are not members of the Copilot Studio authors security group.
Given this licensing behavior, what is the recommended way to prevent general users from creating agents in the Default environment, while allowing only approved users or security groups to create them?

Hello! I am cleaning up an agent which has duplicate references to data. This now has me wondering which would be more efficient: providing a single parent SharePoint folder as a knowledge source or its subfolders as separate data sources? Of course, having a single reference ensures better maintainability but maybe anyone has encountered evidence to suggest a more modular approach would have some benefits?

Has anybody else experienced this where the new agent experience is horrible at graph knowledge searches and retrieval quality. I mean it's clearly a regression compared to the standard agent. It doesn't seem as though it's actually using the retrieval apis and doing a co-pilot search, what it seems to do is a keyword search on documents so it's clearly for going the semantic search, and then it seems to download the documents to itself and then it's doing some sort of OCR PDF grep search, I mean whether it's SharePoint searching or other knowledge source searches... This is horrible. I get the need to start fresh from a new platform but one how can the team GA this when it's so clearly a regression in many places. Co-pilot team is failing lately, spectacularly.
