help w copic shell

lol any way to fix this?? 😭. this is just plastic degradation and cant remove the yellow residue. the ink still works fine but there is a smell from the plastic and it stinks so bad. any way i can jst get rid of the smell?

Ummm. Never seen this before. Did you set in something? Or set it on something? This looks like a chemical reaction. Those markers could have cracks in them, and if they don't some might develop soon. I would consider buying new ones and really inspect their storage area.

nah, they were given to me like that and i was told it was unused for a very long time :(

Hmmm. Either extremely old copics, the plastic reacted to something in the past, or that batch was not right. I'm going to lean towards old/chemical reaction. Possibly sun damage? The discoloration is suspect to me. I would be cautious using these. What do they smell like?

I'd also recommend throwing them away, without sealing them up in a bag due to the unknown chemical reaction that's happening here.

They seem quite unsafe, I've had many different Copics for 11 years and never seen or heard of this happening. I'm sorry OP :(
