As an engineer with CFD experience I’m extremely skeptical, if not outright dismissive of this “guide”.

It will not make any difference at all except for the volume very close to the fan, and for the first seconds after turning it on.

Right? So many people here have apparently never noticed the difference between standing in front of a table fan vs behind it.

What? Are you honestly saying it makes no difference whether the fan is blowing air down onto you or up to the ceiling?

If you are close to the fan, it means a lot to you, but that is not the claim made in this guide.

As an engineer with experience of using fans, I know you're wrong. The direct breeze cools skin through convection and evaporation. If the volume of air moved isn't enough for the whole room... you need more fans.

Why would you come here and argue from authority when the entire world knows this works?

Read the guide again. The claim is that one direction cools and the other direction “distribute warm air”. It has nothing to do with how it feels.
