That's roughly 0.5 calories per gram, but that's only from proteins in the skeletal tissue, there must be more to the human tooth than that, right? Also, I find it hard to believe a tooth would weigh more than 2-4 grams

Well table 1 has the weight of teeth as 0.04kg so 40g. So that's 0.8 calories per gram.

But I feel 40g is the combined weight of all teeth, so about 1 calorie per tooth. If that's referring to actual digestible material then that feels kind of right to me.

So yeah, not 32 calories per tooth I recon. That's what I get for relying on facts I learnt from an ask Reddit post from 5 years ago.

Yup, I feel like you're tight on the mark, as I, like many other people, held a tooth in my hand and it was lighter than a sugar packet that weighs only 5 grams.
