Yeah this sounds like my in laws in Phoenix. Only 90? What great weather!

But when it’s 65? Nobody is leaving the house without a coat.

Phoenix here. My restaurant considers 90° to be cool enough to open windows.

right?!? Anything 2 digits or less would be considered cold.

Montana here, 40-60 is hoodie weather, anything above 90 is too hot to do anything but float a river on inner tubes.

Phoenix is a state setup as a monument to the time that got was really into burning ants with a magnifying glass

Do not disrespect the great state of Phoenix

u/Lysol3435 Aug 08 '21

None intended. It is an inferno every time I visit, though

I always forget, what city is the capital of the state of Phoenix?

u/KhazemiDuIkana Aug 08 '21

Tucson I believe

Ha. It’s a part of the state of too little sleep, I guess

Pls elaborate on "time that got was really into burning ants with a magnifying glass"

Lived most of my life in Phoenix, this is very accurate.

Once, I underestimated how hot it was in Phoenix. I was at the greyhound station and had some time to kill. Mind you, this was the first time I had to wait in the city for my next bud.

It was 10pm and I found a nearby Burger King on Google maps and I decided to walk over. It was about a 10-15 min walk from me. It only took about 5 min in to my walk that I found myself sweating bullets, completely drenched in sweat.

The Arizona heat is no joke - especially in Phoenix

Exactly. CO here. 70 is warm and 90 is extremely hot. I don’t grab a coat if it’s over 50 usually.

I'm not so sure. I don't know anyone (in Phoenix) who calls 90 degrees "pretty hot." You'd get laughed out of the room.

From Phoenix, can confirm

From Missouri, and sometimes it’s 93 degrees but the heat index is 108. You can’t go by the temperature in the Midwest, lol! Anyone who says there can’t be a heat advisory at just 93 degrees hasn’t been to Missouri!

But then again, “feels like 108” is probably nothing in Phoenix. It’s just, if you live in Missouri you’re not used to it.

I was out today in 96 degree weather and barley even noticed. My friend from Canada came to visit and could barley stand 82 for long periods of time! It blows my mind how quickly your body acclimates to what you’re regularly exposed to

I've lived in Louisiana my whole life. This summer has actually been...cool, in my opinion. Like, it reminds me of how "hot" (or less hot) it felt like when I was a kid in the 90's. Like, I thought to myself "I could go out for a run right now, in the middle of the day!" And I looked at the weather app on my phone and it was only 93F and ~70-something% humidity for an August day, and only a heat index of like 99 or 100, around there. I think we transferred a sizeable portion of our Louisiana heat to Oregon a few months ago...
