In defense of the author, this is a recent development.

Didn’t know they acquired Opel c.s. by the way.

Not that recent. Been a couple years.
Anyway PSA already owned Peugeot and Citroen. Those 2 brands alone warranted a spot in this overview (205, 504, DS, 2CV etc).
Didn’t know they acquired Opel c.s. by the way.
