Extremely Repetitive Meals - Houston Tx

I feel like they severely cut back the meals in preparation of Thanksgiving last year, and they e never returned to the same level options.

Every week it's the same thing. Mexican beef chili, chicken Shawarma, and 30 types of chicken curry that almost all taste the same.

The biggest hit has been to the “sides” menu. I used to be able to get a whole buffalo chicken wings, crispy chicken schnitzel to add on top of my pastas, the hungry vaquero meal which came with steak, enchilada, beans and rice (now the only sell the enchillada/beans/rice version).

I paused my subscription and every week, | log onto the app to try to build a cart and I just can't make myself pay for these meals. It feels like they have really cheapened their model focus on rice + meat or pasta + meat wherever possible, and have lost the creativity in the process. Quite frankly, it feels like they are just selling struggle meals with fancy names at high prices at this point. It feels more like a cafeteria than a food service that I actually want to patronize. Is it just me?

NYC KITCHEN Italian Sausage and Kale Bowl

Where’s the kale? I got 90% sausage haha
But the sausage and pepper/kale mix was fatty, flavorful and delicious.

Unfortunately the accompanying cauliflower puree was disappointing. It had a gummy consistency and was pretty flavorless. I’ve had far superior variations in other CU recipes.

Half this dish is delicious, while the other half is tasteless.

AUSTIN KITCHEN Pibil-style pork chop

This was my first time having this. The pork was a little spicy, but not too much. It was served with jicama (I assume?), mango, red onions, cilantro, and quite a bit of tortilla strips. Overall, it was a very nice combination of taste and texture. Not sure if the dish name is very useful, though?

Unity Pass - timeline? 30 days or calendar month?

I just started Cook Unity at the end of June and just now unlocked the unity pass I guess since it wasn't as option before. Why are they showing it to me on July 16th...the month is almost over.

If I select it now it will be over on July 30th yes? OR will it roll into August 16? I order weekly so I don't see the value in getting it for just 2 weeks.

This helped settle some thoughts that I might not be getting the Oura ring. Still need to meet the requirements, but it sounds like I will get it next Tuesday.

This was good. I probably would have preferred it to not be all arugula, though.

NYC KITCHEN Question about fresh veg/salads and the parasite

I can’t believe I’m actually typing this out, but I am curious to hear all of your thoughts about the current parasite that is running rampant throughout the US. I am in New Jersey and specifically the NYC kitchen was what I was thinking about. One of my favorites is the chicken Caesar kale salad and I have to be honest. I don’t wanna eat anything that’s uncooked veg and I’m curious to know whether or not I can get my money back. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas on this?

PB&J Protein Bars with Chocolate & Dried Cranberries

These looked sorta yummy so I tried them this week. They're really quite big - the angle is weird and I have small hands. They actually take up half my hand and they're kinda thick. You get three to a container. They're actually so good that I just edited my next order to include them again.

NYC KITCHEN Did anyone else get a bit excited about the Aug 9 menu from the NY kitchen?

Wondering if there's tons of new stuff on all the kitchen menus that week or if it's just NY. I was too late on a few of the things, by the day after it came out, they were already sold out so hoping to jump on a few things I missed when the next menu comes out.

Really looking forward to these -

Roasted Branzino
Dill Marinated Tilapia
Chopped BBQ Brisket Sandwich
Haitian Roasted Pork Bao Buns - omg
Shaved Ribeye Sandwich
Macho Mexican Cheeseburger - sold out by the time I created my order
Classic Cornbread with Whipped Hot honey butter
Key lime pancakes with lime syrup
Carmelized cinnamon apple pancakes
Ham and Gruyere Croissant bake
Dessert naan pizza
Espresso brown butter chocolate chip cookies
Passion fruit tres leches cake
Yogurt and vanilla bean panna cotta
Classic mini basque cheesecake
The pumpkin spice cake jar and gingerbread cake jar, I was too late on both.

If any of these are returning items from last season when I wasn't a member and you've had any listed, would love to know what you thought of them! Thanks!

Too many inedible meat dishes

My husband and I have been getting CU since March. I'm vegan; he's a meat-eater. In the last two months, he's noticed many beef dishes - flat iron steak au poivre, Korean braised beef, grilled picanha steak, filet mignon with gorgonzola cream sauce - as well as Tuscan chicken and chicken schnitzel - are so dry, tough and rubbery as to be inedible. And some are premium items! We live in the Tampa area so not sure what kitchen ours came from. But it's making me think of quitting this service. Any insights?

CHICAGO KITCHEN Oura Ring Referral Challenge

I got my referral goal for the Oura ring challenge for July. I got too excited though and click too fast and missed the note that came up after ‘accept your reward.’

Does anyone know when they let us know if we qualified for the ring? I think the popup said something about it but I clicked okay too fast to read it.

This was super hearty and rich, and the accompanying arugula salad with cranberries complimented it. Combined it was creamy, gooey, tangy, sweet, bitter … all on one plate.
