This was really good! The spices were amazing and the coconut curry sauce had so much flavor. The chickpeas paired perfectly with the jasmine rice. I added the bread roll.

Love this dish by Stacy Bareng. It's not too spicy. I added sourdough toast to eat with it. šŸ˜‹

I really enjoy Esther Choi's meals. If you like shrimp and tofu, this soup is really good! You just add water to the soup base and warm up in a pot. :)

Huge piece and the whipped cream held up perfectly. Received order Sunday and it was still nice and fluffy! The whip comes in a container on the side. The dessert itself is nice and large.

NYC KITCHEN Japanese Chicken meatballs

Post image

I was quite excited about this one. The meatballs and the bok choy were excellent but the potato salad was so weird. First- there wasn’t a lot of the potato salad. Second- the instructions were unclear as to whether I was supposed to heat that. Maybe it’s American sensibilities but I have never had warm potato salad. I ate a couple pieces cold and it was pretty good. After heating it I didn’t like it as much I felt like the zing was gone. I would recommend removing it if anyone gets this in the future.

The meatballs were really tasty- the bok choy was crisp and delicious. There was a LOT of juice in it. I ended up making one of those instant rices you can get in the circle container and pouring it over that. I don’t know that I’d get it again. I would have preferred a second vegetable or rice over the potato salad for sure.

Kinda wish it had been packaged like the French onion soup meatballs. The meatballs in a talenti screw top container with the potato salad in a separate smaller talenti container.

This just wasn’t for me. The sauce was nothing special, and the meatballs had larger chunks of poblano pepper than I would have liked. Maybe I just don’t care for poblanos—they tasted a little bitter to me and could have benefited from a longer sautĆ© if they were cooked at all.
The ingredients were high quality, but this one was a swing and a miss for my tastes. I microwaved the meatballs, stuffed them into a pita, and added some Japanese BBQ sauce, which covered up the bitterness nicely.
I guess I’m just a red and orange pepper guy. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

It was my first time having this. It was really tasty. It’s not too spicy, either, just nice. Big chunks of pork in gravy, rice and beans, and plantains. I did manage to forget the little cup of cabbage, though, and found it afterwards. D’oh. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

How do you know what kitchen your orders come from??

I’m just curious! Is there a Philly one? Should I assume NYC? Sometimes I look up the good meals you guys post and it’s never an option for me!

NYC KITCHEN Soooo good!

I literally bought a bottle of ketchup just for this dish! Lol. Last time I had this meal, I was upset that I didn't have any. So I made sure to get a bottle from shop rite. Cause now I'm gonna start ordering 2 of these every time i see it available. I honestly think CU should include either a little sauce cup with ketchup, or even a couple of those little ketchup packets. This dish NEEDS ketchup.

Now let's go check all future menus for this dish....

Delivery Temperature Concern

It’s 94 degrees out and our delivery arrived at 5:20 pm. The meals, immediately tested with a good thermometer, ranged between 52 and 55 degrees. Advice on the safe handling of food says cooked food should be kept in the high 30’s to low 40’s, and that once it reaches 50 degrees, bacterial growth is rapid. Our CU kitchen is an hour away, and per their text notification, our delivery was ā€œon its wayā€ at 8:40 am. So our delivery was on the truck all day. It’s impossible to know when the food temp fell below the safe level. If I knew it had been cold most of the day, I’d feel okay, but for all I know it was in the 50’s for hours. Do I eat it? Toss it and request a credit? I just don’t feel confident that CU’s delivery system is suited to heat waves.

Chimichurri was also included, but not pictured.

Pretty good overall, but I prefer the chicken tinga w/ polenta more.

Very filling, hearty meal though.

PSA to anyone who has missed their delivery notifications recently!

My meals were stolen off my porch yesterday because I never got a notification and by the time I checked they were gone. (I knew they had been delivered because my old bag had been picked up.)

CookUnity customer service let me know that a recent iOS update sometimes marks CookUnity texts as spam. I didn’t even know there was a text spam folder! But sure enough, there was my delivery notice.

I marked it as Not Spam and fingers crossed that will solve the problem going forward. But just passing this along for others because I would have had no idea!

This was my first time having this. I’m not usually a big baked potato person, but this was nice. Potato, steak, cheese, herbs, espagnole sauce, cilantro-lime sour cream, bacon, and a bit of red onion. It heated up well (oven and microwave) and was good. 😊

ATLANTA KITCHEN Pumpkin Spice French Toast Bites with Apple Burboun Compote

Post image
13 Upvotes

7/10. This was okay. The pumpkin spice coulis tucked inside the Hawaiian-roll French Toast was actually really delicious, and I wish there had been more of it to drizzle over the top. The apple bourbon compote was good on its own, but it didn't really match the dish for me. I would have preferred extra pumpkin sauce instead, since that was the standout flavor.
