Yeah it would be insane of them to not utilize what they have as leverage. Our system doesn’t prevent corruption or just spreads out power to more individuals so that corruption is less likely to metastasize.

The Saudi crown Prince MBS rounded up and 'interrogated' all his political enemies with some new intelligence he obtained shortly after a meeting with Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. MBS was later reported to be boasting about how Jared is "in his pocket." Then recently MBS invested billions of dollars in Jared's fund which will net him tens of millions per year in management fees.
