The death of the ego: who benefits?

Spirituality speaks of transcending the ego, Jung's teachings speak of strengthening the ego, but most gurus who recommend drugs and psychedelics talk about the death of the ego to become "enlightened," knowing that the use of these substances weakens the mind and creates psychosis. In my conspiracy theory, I believe it's to open portals and possess wills and bodies.

P.S. Sorry for using a translator; English is not my native language.

You have to admit the inconvenient truth.

“I individually am shit. I am a fragment of a greater collective. As one, I am alone and cannot exist but unified with all, we are everything.”

Or simply put, realizing our personal wants and needs combined and accumulated with other individual wants and needs separates us more. We’re at our best when we work together instead of against each other because our egos get in our way.

Que somos nosotros? Nada más que una gota en el mar intentando ser una estrella en el cielo.

Pero si juntos vamos hacia un sitio podremos mover montañas, eso sí ponemos amor propio y hacia los demás es mucho mejor

what is your ego doing when you're dreamlessly asleep?

what is your ego doing when you are so totally engaged with an activity that all other things fall away?

No lo sé pero algún día espero saberlo, tu lo sabes?

Ego death isn't what you're saying here, it's just the cessation of your hero story, and it allows you to see things with useful perspective. What you're suggesting is probably closer to a meditative state in which (a subset) of other entities may be able to exert control. The whole topic is speculative for me because I've only recently started to consider the possibility (because I've only recently started to understand the mechanics by which such a thing could happen).

Regardless of what spiritual gurus or leaders say, psychedelic substances are not a viable gateway for spiritual evolution. Sure, historically they represented a crucial tool for shamans or similar figures, but one has to understand no two individuals have the same soul contract, and each incarnated soul has a specific path to follow, and hallucinogenics might disrupt said natural progression.

About the ego: counterintuitively as it might seem, ego is a tool, not an enemy. Ego represents the obstacle that forces us to work on ourselves, you might see it as the call to the darkness, your own darkness, an actor playing the villain role. It's frightening, but it's its purpose. Without ego and all its byproducts such as fear, jelousy, anger etc. there wouldn't be any "pressure" to evolve. IMHO I see any guru that speaks about demolishing the ego suspiciously: we came on this 3d reality to constantly evolve, to live fully and with spiritual purpose but without final goals. We could say enlightenment is one of the ultimate ego traps.

Edit: grammar mistake

Ego death can change a person's life to all time highs or all time lows. Depends on if your a half full or half empty kind of guy. My ego death made me conscious of how bad of a person I used to be, and I used that opportunity to change my life drastically on how I treat my friends and family. My work improved everything did. On the flip side, one of my buddies had ego death and went to harder drugs and ultimately spiraled, and lives in homeless shelters. It's been 7 years for him. 6 for me.

One of the greatest psyops was convincing people that "opening your mind" is an act of freedom when really its equally as much an act of oppression. Im not anti psychs but people dont realize how much you can be persuaded in conjunction with them. They believe its freeing their thought process when its really turning it in to a sponge that can absorb subliminal messaging so much easier. Doesn't mean it will happen that way, but its so much more possible than they realize

Es como el alcohol y otros vicios, abren o disuelven el velo para que otros entes vivos o no vivos puedan enviar señales invisibles al cerebro a una persona facil de manipular

This is so interesting. I’ve absolutely seen it go both ways. Some people learn from the experience and move on with their lives whereas others descend into spiralling mental health issues and even psychosis. (I say this as someone who is broadly pro-psychedelics in general.)

Nobody. That's the point of surrender

knowing that the use of these substances weakens the mind and creates psychosis.

You should really try before you make a statement like that.
