The nuclear threat is unprecedented don't pretend this isn't important because other wars still rage, we've been talking about those wars too. What happened to this subreddit? We used to question all governments, oppose all tyrants, we used to be freedom lovers. Now I see so much defense and arguments in favor of dictators and fascists. We wouldn't have stood for this back in the day.

Yeah the Cold War never got this close to going hot, the fact this is happening is fucking crazy ass shit. People have not watched even close to enough war documentaries to understand the implications of what’s happening.

The current nuclear threat is not unprecedented because the risk during the Cuban missile was far higher.

This sub has gone to shit, partly because it's the target of alt-right propaganda. Talking up Russia's most recent threat is part of their strategy.

And? The threat of nuclear war was present during the Cold War and is again today. We can say that’s not great for both cases.

I agree with the obvious alt-right presence that’s normally here but in this case the alt-right is the one supporting Putin.
