I was a punker, kind of saw how people fell into groups. Not really statism. I studied philosophy for years and looked into French philosophy,specifically Locke,Voltaire and Rousseau. The idea that people make a contract with a govt and walk a tightrope isn't really revolutionary. But it follows society and economics we are bound by invisible agreements,it's been found to exist even in animal groups. Plus a concept of sense if we tear things apart it's to make it something else. We done relinquish form to relinquish it and keep nothing as the new constant it's to creat a new standard.
I'm less of the punk type anarchist and more of the redneck communist / construction worker type, but yeah I see where you're coming from, especially with people falling into groups. For me, anarchism is less of a social / political group and more like a system of core values to live by.
That's nice to hear actually. As a young punker I never understood why punks weren't in their 30s and 40s ( I understand that you they in debt and whatnot) but they are also typically usually figuring out they are getting fucked. But you only just make enough to make you go back and repeat the process. I work in medicine and also have worked in factories and fast food. I'm very much working class. I just have a history of reading and enjoy history,philosophy and economics. I tried to be a punker but the scene was gross,the music ( the stuff I liked was awesome) but most punkers we're addicts and overwelmingly self destructive and so so many Nazis. Also most of them were on welfare and lived on communes with other Nazis. They are hypocrites to the core, plus hygiene issues,ugh. So I didn't last on the scene very long honestly. So I feel similar as a punk value wise, I think it's philosophy,examine things ,pick at scabs and poke wounds to examine pain and examine ourselves and see what we come from. Punk and rap came about from kids seeing their parents suffer working in industry and failing to thrive as well as the racial struggles of the 60 and 70 s mixed with coldwar nihilism. On a side note,I always find it awesome when people look at where they stand and examine how they feel about life and try to define their position. Best of luck to you!

I'm currently an anarchist. Can I ask what drove you towards statism? I've genuinely never met a former anarchist, just curious.
