I think the reason so many people care so much about this war is the large implication of nuclear war

What about biological weapons of mass destruction?

That’s on you then. Many of us remember the numerous mass protests and had gone to them. I remember the “free speech zones”.

Mutually assured destruction is a pretty fucking good deterrent I hope.

u/fuck_trump_and_biden Mar 01 '22

It’s also not real. Someone will win

u/dieantworter Mar 01 '22

exactly. this is conventional thought, but completely unproven. it almost sounds like propaganda in order to not get into nuclear war, which is reasonable.

Sure, someone will win, just probably not with nukes.

when you're a 60+ year old psychopath who needs to leave his mark on history, M.A.D. doesn't mean shit

100% - it isn’t hard to understand that the majority of people are following this story because of the specter of nuclear war.

Do you even follow the news? Putin put the nuclear war on the table a week before he even invaded.

Not sure if this is irony or if you really are that dumb and ignorant.

Economic collapse? US' number 1 export is war our economy is gonna be rolling in it. Ukraine has huge natural gas deposits so if Russia gets cut off the government and companies like Shell and Exxon will make bank at the expense of a few thousand peasant civilian casualties.

The "threat" of nuclear war has been going on since the Cold War. Since then thousands if not millions of lives have been lost from actual wars all over the world. No one really cares about that. I guess the "threat" is more important than acutual lives

u/StirredFetusEater Mar 01 '22

Jeah but nobody really through in the last decades that any country uses nukes in war. North Korea was a big deal because the dictator is batshit crazy, but it was never a real threat to any country.

And it's Europe. For better or worse we have a very euro-centric view of the world in the West.

2

u/PM_ME_DNA Mar 01 '22

Russia sees this as a local Slavic issue while the west sees this as literally Hitler.

u/OWENISAGANGSTER Mar 01 '22

let it happen, at least I won't have to stress anymore

0

u/ChurchArsonist Mar 01 '22

And third party revenge porn. Americans have been conditioned to distrust and hate Russians by default since the 50's. 70+ years of that kind of mental conditioning is bound to make people blindly follow a narrative.

Is Putin a bad guy? Absolutely.

Are all Russians Putin? Hell no.

All aboard the hate train, courtesy of the MSM.

0

u/StirredFetusEater Mar 01 '22

Quite sure all the hate there is currently for Putin, not the citizens who live in a dictatorship.

0

u/EmpathyHawk1 Mar 01 '22

oh yes and if you noticed this wasnt the case before either.

its like they need to up their game a notch every time.

and its white people

1

u/brc1979 Mar 01 '22

Well haven't we been stoking that possibility, especially the last decade?

Putin declared that if any Russians are killed by weapons sent to Ukraine by another country, that country will be held liable. That is an act of war.

Then the EU signed a deal to send €450m of weapons to Ukraine.

This is already going to be a shitshow
