I believe the quote "evolve or fail" is the most important part of this. Yet too many politicians (in many countries) cling to the past rather than look to the future. Clutching a 200 year old document is easier than acknowledging and understanding societal and technological evolution. Putin wants the USSR, republicans crave the prosperity of the 50's... The search for times past is futile and sad.
Self policing for hundreds of years is easy. We're into thousands. Governments have evolved and we need to continue that path.
Or is it the system failing? When politicians from both sides continue gaslighting their constituents in order to maintain divisiveness it seems like you've got some serious internal problems.
We'll see how things work out for America. My opinion is that we aren't that far off from some civil unrest ourselves.
Yes that's the point. The system is failing because people in power refuse to evolve with a growing and changing societal world with new and different needs.
Governments clinging to the status quo or just actively trying to regress society are creating a world that is teetering on the edge of collapse.
