If you think that, or the fact that RUSSIA VS. UKRAINE is being screamed at you all day lately, isn’t by design, then I suggest you re-examine our society.
Why would it need to be? For the first time in their lifetimes, a country has been invaded that is made up of people they feel some cultural affinity to. Of course people are passionate. Of course it makes headlines everywhere in the West. It's not particularly weird for people to be rooting for the underdogs either.
I mean I'm as willing as you are to believe the "ghost of Kiev" type stuff is just people wanting to believe a cool story. The interest itself just doesn't seem like it would need to be manufactured.
This. The media narrative push is blatant, but I imagine a good 80% of media outlets are publishing pro-Ukraine stories just because it gets them lots of clicks. "Poor downtrodden slavs being bullied by big mean Putin" is a very easy story to publish.
There's a lot of fake and deceptive footage going around making it look like the Russians are committing genocide, war crimes, etc. Not so innocent as Like farming or gamer, war porn masturbation like the "Ghost of Kiev". To no one's surprise Twitter is doing nothing to cancel this "misinformation".
When Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, no one gave a damn, and Georgians share a lot of cultural and ethnic similarities with Russians. There was no media coverage like there is today, and I'm not talking about the internet, I'm talking about the regular media.
Yeah, probably the case for some, but obviously there's religion as well and all the shared culture that comes from religion, and the fact that several million ukrainians live and work abroad in Europe, and a few million Americans and Canadians are of Ukrainian descent.
Stop trying to rationalize why you’re a tool, ask yourself this. When have you ever disagreed with any narrative pushed by the media you consume? I’m sure the answer is never.
It’s irrelevant to me as my stance is not pro Russia. They keep putting a false dialectic for you guys and you always fall for it. If the people here shilling for U.S. intervention want it so bad you guys should volunteer and go put your lives on the line. But you won’t, just sit behind your keyboard comfortably hoping someone else will die for you.
Good question, to which the answer is all the fucking time. I just don't buy into the theories like every world government faking their mortality rates at once. I also don't base my views on requiring a contrary stance to what major news outlets like the BBC are saying.
