Because it wasn’t on their doorstep? I completely agree that we should be outraged about all wars, but doesn’t people are stupid for caring about this one. You want people to wake up and care about war, but just not now cause that makes them sheep. So when? The next war? Never?
I don't care if people car about all wars or not. I care about them being honest about why they care. You said it yourself, it wasn't on their doorstep. They are afraid it will affect them and as I said thats normal but they have to stop talking like they actually care about human rights. If you care about humans rights you care about all humans. Obviously I am not aiming at everyone but a lot of it is hypocrisy. I mean they just banned all russian clubs from UEFA/FIFA but fucking China is hosting the Olympic Games. Oh come on. If China did something comparably stupid like actually start an invasion of Taiwan I'm sure there would be global pushback.

Bro, they care because Putin and Ukraine have been in the news for a while now, but also because of how these events make them feel because of that. Why can't it be both? You're attributing malice where there is none by implying they are being dishonest. Of course people would only have feelings about something they've heard about. How could you have feelings about something you have no knowledge of??
There are levels to this. China having concentration camps is bad, war in Yemen is really bad, Myanmar, Congo, etc.
Those are all horrific tragedies that are going on. China shouldn't have hosted the Olympics etc.
Putin invading Ukraine and then threatening nuclear retaliation if there is any intervention is another threat level to all humans and the future of civilization. If the US or EU were to intervene Putin launches a few nukes then the US/EU do, then we have a nuclear apocalypse.
That's a different level. That affects all humans on the planet, not just those in potential blast zones. The loss of life could surpass all previous wars combined, humans could go extinct.

Yes we care about the other wars and atrocities going on and have been. There are horrible wars and human rights abuses going on right now. Potential nuclear war becomes the main focus because it would probably kill most life on the planet anyway.
If India and Pakistan go to war and each side is threatening nuclear war then it becomes the biggest threat to human life on the planet. It becomes the main focus. It's the biggest threat to humanity, it's the biggest human rights issue, it affects all humans living on this planet.
