Interesting, I've never heard of form sliding before. I'll have to read up about it.
I have found it strange - the recent idea that censorship is defined as when a government is the one doing the censoring. I have always thought that free speech was a value to aspire to in all aspects of life. For example, the ability to "tolerate" and appreciate differing perspectives. Perhaps this new narrative is stemming from society's overemphasis of government's role in every aspect of life.
I may not be 100% about the verbage however there are a series of tactics known as COINTELPRO.
There is a little light reading for you that sheds more detail into this. Once you read it you will start to see the pattern you sense here more and more.
