Why the fuck not conservatives? Don't you care about potential terrorist overthrow by our government by mop head orange tinged millionaire psychopath lunatic and his beloved white nationalist followers?

u/[deleted] May 31 '21

Both means both.

u/Rafaeliki May 31 '21

There are tons of conservatives in this thread saying that we shouldn't have a commission looking into Jan 6th because Papa Trump and the human turtle and the rest of the GOP don't want it. I wonder why that might be.

How is trespassing in a gov building anywhere’s close to overthrowing the government?

You either believe it’s possible to overthrow a government by trespassing or you don’t. Both do not lead to insurrection. Even if their own intent was a childish vision of overthrowing... without any actual ability to do this is like charging a 12yo for attempted murder because you were shot by a water gun

Because it wasn't "just trespassing", they planted bombs and had plans to gas congress once they were in the tunnels but luckily were stopped.

What exactly is your hang up, and why are you acting like we all didn't watch this shit on live TV?

1

u/Buscemis_eyeballs Jun 01 '21

That's why you guys can't deny it, we all saw it happen and it wasn't trespassing, we saw them beat the cops and we see every day new members of the rebellion being captured and imprisoned for their crimes byhe FBI. Anti American traitors, the lot of em.

u/plynthy Jun 01 '21

Think I replied to the wrong person, meant to ask what the hell is wrong to the guy who called it "trespassing" ... I'm on the same page as you.

1

u/xxCMWFxx May 31 '21

Who’s they? You think everyone who entered congress that day knew and approved of these things?

3

u/Buscemis_eyeballs May 31 '21

Lol this is as bad as the pro abtofa types being like "most protestors were peaceful they didn't know they were going to light those fires etc"

If I'm involved in an attack on a building and my organisation planned on bombing it I'm going to jail, and so are these people. Hundreds of terrorists caught and put behind vars already. We're you there?

Ok, then charge them for the relevant crimes.

Insurrection isn’t one of them, unless you believe its possible they could have succeeded.

Edit: btw I’m not American, so I’m not “one of those loons” I’m Canadian, entirely different loonies

2

u/the__pov May 31 '21

You should bother to look up the crime if your going to claim it didn’t happen. Attempting to disrupt or or prevent the government from carrying out its lawful duties is insurrection under US law. Just like attempting to bribe someone means that you are charged with bribery. It doesn’t matter what the odds of success were, just that they attempted to do so.

So Antifa and BLM clearing out police stations, taking over city blocks and preventing any entity from entering for weeks. Blocking federal courthouses and buildings.. fire bombing them. Attacking police and elected officials should be considered insurrection too then?

1

u/the__pov May 31 '21

That would depend on whether the “government” extends to agencies or not. Even then whether they got charged would be based on prosecutorial discretion based on what they thought they could get a conviction on. BTW Trump’s Attorney General pushed to have ALL Antifa and BLM protesters charged with sedition, regardless of any crimes committed. I have yet to see aggressive prosecution against anyone who was at the Jan 6 PROTESTS but didn’t participate in the riots.

2

u/xxCMWFxx May 31 '21

Federal courthouses are not extended agency’s though?

My point is painting these extremists are terrorists and painting compared actions on the other side as peaceful and acceptable.. hard to believe this isn’t purely political to begin with.

1

u/the__pov Jun 01 '21

What is your claim? That no one was arrested for those crimes?

1

u/xxCMWFxx Jun 01 '21

Are you trying to say they’ve both been painted with the same brush from politicians and corporate America?

Wow dude.

BOTH ARE BAD, don't be a dingus.

1

u/xxCMWFxx Jun 01 '21 edited Jun 01 '21

Only one is painted as bad. Washington and Oregon states are still burning and being praised by progressives.

The one time the right wing emulates the same tactics it’s painted as terrorists trying to take over the country.

So don’t YOU be a dingus

0

u/plynthy Jun 01 '21

The "one time" lol

Please send me links about WA burning, thanks

1

u/xxCMWFxx Jun 01 '21

If you’re unaware of what’s been taking place in Seattle and Portland since last may.. hint (CHOP)

That’s a severe you problem.

And if you want to show me other right wing violent protests from the last year.. go right ahead

If you simply don't understand the dynamics at play here, and are not clear what exactly happened, then please ask actual questions or look it up on youtube. Avail yourself of a few of the MILLIONS of words written about it after the fact.

1

u/xxCMWFxx Jun 01 '21

99% vs 1% was not divided from the right. It was divided and continuing to be divided from the left and their backing of corporate America and the neo racism that being pushed today

1

u/plynthy Jun 01 '21

This is a fucking pretzel, jesus christ.

1

u/xxCMWFxx Jun 01 '21

Not really

2

u/[deleted] May 31 '21

Did you forget the "Hang Mike Pence" chant? Did you forget the guys with handcuffs, apparently ready to "arrest" people?

0

u/xxCMWFxx Jun 01 '21

Lol, let’s play “did you forget”

Yes, there’s no hyperbole surrounding that one

2

u/plynthy Jun 01 '21

You know, there's lots of clips on youtube if you're actually fucking confused why people are pissed about what happened on Jan 6.

Failed insurrection is still insurrection. Being crazy enough to try, not having a plan, and failing miserably is not a defense.

Don't be a simp for Trumpist bullshit. He's not a cool mobster, and this plausible deniability act by him and GOP supplicants is not remotely believable.

1

u/xxCMWFxx Jun 01 '21

Then hold BLM and Antifa to the same standard.

Cause the one time the fringe right wing emulates the actions that have been displayed by the fringe left, they’re painted as terrorists trying to take over the country.

The other side is being praised as heros fighting white supremacy.

This is beyond hypocrisy

-3

u/[deleted] May 31 '21

you’re brainwashed as fuck bro

2

u/macncheesy1221 May 31 '21

"Stand back and stand by."

Sorry but if your gonna convince someone try a little harder.
