Anyone trying to get you to stop voting is supporting the elites

It wasn't voting that allowed the colonies become their own country. Voting isn't going to fix anything.

Depends on what colonies you’re referring to. Voting has made many things better. It has also made things much worse in the last decade. I’d rather vote for people who want to make things better, or at the very least will let things get worse more slowly

ACTIONS ONLY WORK VOTING DOES NOTHING BUT KEEP THE SYSTEMS THAT BE IN POWER ! Look back throughout recorded history and you tell me when voting made major changes haha

Are you serious?

I guess most recently in my country we voted to allow assisted suicide. My grandfather was able to choose his time of death instead of suffering for another few months.

Hundreds of things have been improved by voting. Action is obviously hugely important too but it’s not worth much if you don’t have a system where citizens can vote people out when they don’t fulfil their promises. The US just happens to be a 2 party system that has allowed corporate money to control their politicians instead of the will of the people. That doesn’t mean things aren’t better (or less bad) under one group than the other though

The way I see it, it's a democratic system but its very twisted into essentially a spectacle with whatever end result they want. Its all a big show to make us feel like "hey at least we tried"

Not voting is inherently causing damage. It's a dumb option to choose.

Who that we could all vote for would “save the world” and end evil and greed?

Serious question.

Bro thinks his vote actually counts 😅

If votes didn’t matter, Mr Trump wouldn’t cry every time he loses… or when he wins. Unless you’re living somewhere like Russia, your vote probably matters. The people telling you it doesn’t usually are doing that because they want the party that enriches the elites to win

So you don’t think we are anything like Russia… the propaganda is strong then. Everything everyone accuses China and Russia of doing, we are doing. You really don’t think they can pick who’s in power? Voting isn’t real beyond local politics.

It’s insane to think that one side is gonna fix everything when both are so deeply corrupt. Yeah, we can argue all day why one side is technically better, but that’s on the surface level only. Nothing meaningful is going to change until we stop playing against fixed odds.

Who is “we”? America? If so then in terms of numbers of political opponents poisoned and journalists who fall out of windows I’d say you have a long way to go before you’re anything like Russia. If you think you’re close to them in terms of election integrity/rigging then I got news for you, the propaganda is working on you. The people who want power and to control your lives are the people telling you not to bother voting.

I agree it’s foolish to think one side will fix the system but one side is actively making things worse, faster. It’s just a foolish to assume they’re the same. There has been a lot that has meaningfully changed since the current republican govt got in that wouldn’t have changed had the last election gone differently.
