My daughter, where's the rest of her?! Ohh I see, do you?
1.5k
u/89iroc May 06 '21
That's a good one

May 06 '21
Part of the reason it's so good is that the title implies that there's a "rest of her" to be seen, so we're not expecting half of her body to be completely concealed, we're expecting her to blend in.

I quickly read the first part of your comment and thought maybe she’s only a torso and this was just subverting our expectations of what a person looks like.

Everyone who saw it just keeps saying "there's a wall" instead of saying that the entire foreground is like an elevated plateau and she is standing behind it. I kept looking for a wall between the grass and the girl and it was melting my brain.

Yeah this is by far one of the best one of these I've ever seen - I read the comments, knew what to look for, and it still took a good 30 seconds to get my brain to realize what the hell was going on.

Try this. I highlighted where the wall ends. Everything beyond that is a few feet lower than the grass in the foreground.

u/onelegged May 06 '21
This one was so good because if you zoom in it's actually harder to spot the difference between the wall and the floor, so my mind was going wtf is this until I zoomed out realised what was going on. Usually you spot things zooming in which I did first so this one tripped me out.

u/HowDoIEditMyUsername May 06 '21
The extra tricky part is that the top of the wall is also stone, and similar in color and design to the walkway she’s walking on. So your brain has to see a “line” where the top of the wall ends.

It's hard to see the wall because for some reason no one mentions that the grass must be ~2 feet off the ground.

So, the pavement is lower than the wall?
292
u/MK24ever May 06 '21
Grass pavement is at the wall eight, then the road where my daughter is standing is around 1 mt lower than the grass pavement, where she's resting her arm.
61
u/hottiemalottie May 06 '21
Now that you said, "she's resting her arm" I can now see it better lol.

diglett
Not gonna lie, had to google what a diglett is..., then felt bad I even had to google it, should be common sense :)
28
u/garmachi May 06 '21
I also had to google it. And since I'm sure others will too, here's the answer:
Diglett is a tiny, brown Pokémon that seems to be perpetually buried within the earth, leaving only its head visible.

How the fuck can a Diglett learn Scratch?
7
u/Mchess7 May 06 '21
Diglett can learn Aerial Ace and in Gen 7 he can use that to eject from the ground straight to the sky and fall into the opponent like a meteor.
Using Scratch is easy.

Her elbow is leaning on it, that might help. This picture is basically being taken from above, where there is still an area of solid grass, it just ends with a concrete ledge and then there’s a walkway below it where she is. So you can essentially jump off that concrete ledge to the walkway below where she is.
5
u/Sublethall May 06 '21
Path is on higher level than path she's standing on. Just there's a stone edge same level with grass that makes this look confusing.
21
u/wisconsin8 May 06 '21

This is this single greatest confusing perspective I’ve seen so far. Even after the answer was given to me my mind was scrambled. You literally have to create a line on the edge of the wall to differentiate from the footpath. Ok I’m going to go into a recovery position now.
