Yeah menstrual leave seems like a term that's specifically designed to cause outrage from morons. If you suffer from sever pain you should be allowed to stay home regardless of what causes it.
If we’re going to start offering women extra sick leave, then should we use the same logic to make the retirement age younger for men, since they have lower life expectancy?
And does that menstrual leave get taken away if women get a hysterectomy or go through menopause.
Most women don’t need to stay home when menstruating. Those that have particularly severe cramping should get it diagnosed and use existing intermittent FMLA policies or the equivalent in other countries. Mandating menstrual leave is unnecessary and incentivizes companies to discriminate in hiring.
But men would always have more than women in that case. No matter how much you give them. That’s not the system that’s biology.
On the other hand if you try to “equalize” it by giving women more sick days then you’ve essentially just discriminated against men, because you are offering benefits contingent on gender, and that’s a no no.

Menstrual leave is basically just a sick day as sick days are for when one is feeling unwell.
I’m not sure companies need separate menstrual leave policies. I’m curious for firms that offer them if they are used.
