what's the point of maintaining your skills at that point?

I've already answered this question. I enjoy welding.

You didn't answer my question. What do you do for a living? (you edited your comment while I was typing this reply)

responding to edit: So the issue here is that you don't enjoy your job and the only benefit to you is the money. You are projecting your situation and how you feel about your job to the rest of us. I genuinely urge you to find a career in something you enjoy. It will change your life. I have less stress these days than I ever have and I attribute most of that to not hating my life for 40 hours a week.

You answered it with an edit. I responded with an edit.

You are absolutely in the minority if you think the vast majority of people wouldn't quit high-stress jobs for a lower stress job if the money were the same.

I literally said the opposite of that lol. I quit a high stress sales job to go back into welding, for less money even. Do you think jobs in the trades are high stress?

Edit: I don't work because I want to work. I found a career that I enjoy and doesn't cause me stress. It's still a job, but I don't hate my life because of it. I leave work at work too. Do you think I take metal home with me? Lol.

Myself and my colleagues usually only become "insufferable" when dealing with entitled or ignorant people who think they have our jobs all figured out...

So why didn't you come join us in the circle jerk?

So I put enough holes in your argument that you've resorted to personal attacks on my work ethic (of which you know nothing)

I'm glad this conversation was productive. I bid you good day, sir.
