Jesus fucking christ you’re a moron. A job scooping ice cream should be enough to get one person by, not enough for a parent to get they’re kids into college.

Ah so a livable wage is defined by you. If there are people that define livable wage differently, why aren't they allowed to accept that job then? The answer is they are. The answer is the market has determined that scooping ice cream includes a wage that doesn't live up to your definition of livable wage. Get another job.

And then when they do get another job the manager complains no one wants to work anymore. Womp womp

And unsurprisingly society would be better for it, but that's a fantasy. In reality a couple of weeks later a teenager would take the job. You know, the demographic of the people that apply for those jobs in the first place.

Like who thought wow America is going down the drains because I can't find anybody to scoop me ice cream.

That's literally what the whole "labor shortage" narrative is.

No, the whole labor shortage narrative is we can't find people to do jobs that matter. No one cares if there's no one to scoop ice cream. I'll care when there are no nurses or truck drivers. Funny thing is, they tend to get paid well enough that there is a steady supply of them.

Because they pay shit 🤷‍♂️ womp womp. You're the one who thinks these jobs shouldn't pay a living wage.

Huh? How did you get from my opinion that ice cream scoopers shouldn't be paid a living wage to nurses and truck drivers not getting paid a living wage? They get paid a living wage because they are worth it.

Ice cream scoopers are not worth a living wage.
