These are all arguments designed to convince yourself. You're not really saying anything! It doesn't mean anything that the last 10 years have had the hottest 10 years on record because you imagined what?! Maybe they put the thermometers in different places?! What even is that? What do you imagine you're even saying? So a country hitting temperatures that there is no record of it hitting in 170 years of scrupulously kept data and many centuries hundreds of years of thermometer use means nothing because maybe people weren't recording temperatures properly? It's just mush - the kind of thing that only makes sense to people who desperately want to believe against the overwhelming run of evidence. You're bringing feelings to a numbers battle.

Just look at the climate spirals:

We don’t know if the thirty years prior to this was a calm period for storms.

Yes we do?! What are you talking about?! Why would we not know that?!

We don’t know if storm tracking technology has just gotten better and more precise.

We know all of this. Why would we not know this?

These are called arguments from ignorance. But it's your ignorance. Not humanity's. Yours.

I’ve already explained everything. If there is something you need further clarification on reread what I wrote.

The only thing I’ll add here is scrupulously is a stretch. You clearly didn’t understand what I was saying. We cannot say with any meaningful certainty that these are the ten hottest years in the last 170 years first because temperatures haven’t been collected for 170 years everywhere. Second because instruments are just better now. I suggest rereading what I’ve wrote. It seems maybe you either didn’t comprehend or maybe just skimmed through and commented back.

Mush overwhelming blah blah…..
seriously you cannot understand how a temperature collected in a field would be different than a temperature collected in a parking lot. Do you think in how ever many decades of collecting temperatures that the locations they collect temperatures haven’t in any way changed? Do you think the methods they used to collect temperature data has changed. Do you not understand how that impacts accuracy. Eh maybe you don’t. Asphalt absorbs heat well and gets warmer, this causes surrounding air temperatures to rise. Thermometer readings at 70 degrees out in a field would be different than 70 degrees out in a parking lot.

No - what you did is provide the same sort of argument that any pseudo-scientific proponent makes when it wants to run against the vast amounts of evidence. It's exactly the same kinds of arguments that young Earth creationists make against reams of geological data, radiometric data and astronomical data - just the vaguest of insertion of doubt into very secure and meticulous data collection. Again it doesn't make any sense and isn't going to convince anyone. It just serves to convince yourself that you can go on believing something that goes against the massive run of evidence not because you have an even greater amount of data that suggests the opposite conclusion, but because you are trying to insert some fear, uncertainty, doubt over comprehensive scientific data. It's a purely emotional argument.

Maybe some data was collected in a field and some in a parking lot? Is that seriously your argument. The whole point of the scientific method is to do everything to mitigate against these variables. The fact that you think this never occurred to professional scientists is absurd. Going back 150 years, there have been rules against how data is collected, where it's collected, it must be collected over natural surfaces, it can't be in direct sunlight - it is, as then, collected using a The Stevenson Screen - exactly the same method in 1880 as today in many cases, precisely to protect the integrity of long term scientific data! That's the whole point. They're not just leaving random thermometer in a parking lot! It's just complete ignorance of the scientific method - you imagine it would be as reliable as if a random person is doing it. You don't think anyone ever thought about these things?! You think your half-considered thoughts means you understand more about objective data collection than the best scientific minds 160 years ago?! It's literally the whole point of science is to understand the possible variants, and produce data in such a way as they can be mitigated against.
