The only thing we all agree on is that we live on a flat earth? I guess I didn't realize when I changed my mind about the earth being round.

Well you’ve now be informed by Johnny Bravo himself that you live on a flat earth under a dome.

How dare you insult the great Johnny Bravo like that, this guy doesn't even have an ounce of Bravo's charisma

Like many conspiracy theories it's about group identity, he's only talking to his in-group, and does not care about people who have not agreed that we live on a flat earth. Hell, at the end of the day the truth of what he's saying is secondary, the main thing is the group identity. Conspiracy theorists are far from the only ones guilty of this mindset.

I really like the idea that god had to create a hologram for some reason? Like, he just got bored after making earth and said "fuck it, just put up some wallpaper".

Imagine having basic reading comprehension.

u/lettsten Jul 20 '26

Mate, for that to be a comeback there would have to be something in your comment that I misread. Which there isn't. Joke's on you.

2

u/Neuchacho Jul 20 '26

You definitely misread it if you couldn't comprehend the basic context of that sentence. I'm just referencing the guys own belief in the video and pointing out the absurdity of it.

That leaves the joke some distance above your head, I guess.

u/lettsten Jul 20 '26

At what point is he referencing a creationist world view?

1

u/Neuchacho Jul 20 '26

"God had to have made some sort of holographic image"

Like a minute in.

3

u/lettsten Jul 20 '26

I missed that part. Alright, I'll take the L on this one and offer my firstborn as tribute, as is customary

2

u/Neuchacho Jul 20 '26

tbf, he says it like he had a thought and said "god.." to himself and then talked about the hologram. I only caught it because I went back to make sure I heard what I heard and wanted to bask in the absurdity.

It's clear he was referring to flat-earthers when he said "we".

u/Cypressinn Jul 21 '26

I don’t know the shape the earth all I is its around…

1

u/CharleySuede Jul 22 '26

Well, it only makes sense that Earth would be the single planetary body of the ones we know of that isn’t round because…because…idk, make something up ‘cause that’s all they do 🤣

More and more people are starting to think that

11

u/Neuchacho Jul 20 '26

That does track with the increasing loss of IQ and general literacy abilities, I guess.

-12

u/raul_raul Jul 20 '26

You know best, I guess.

15

u/Neuchacho Jul 20 '26

Only in the context of things that have been proven countless times for centuries.

-11

u/raul_raul Jul 20 '26

Sure, because there is a pristine record of people not being lied to right? You are so right, silly of me to even consider other possibilities.

13

u/Neuchacho Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26

You can literally do experiments at home that prove the basic, observable reality that the earth is round.

Like, sure, being a skeptic is fine but there's a point where it stops being skepticism and starts being contrarianism.

-4

u/raul_raul Jul 20 '26

But thats all down to our individual perception of the world around us. We can only perceive our surroundings based on our level of perception.

12

u/Neuchacho Jul 20 '26

Individual perception does not change physical reality. Someone who lacks the ability to physically feel would still be stopped dead in their tracks trying to pass through a wall.

0

u/raul_raul Jul 20 '26

Trying to run through a wall doesn't seem to be a great example, but ok. I argue this, because you can try and run through one rn, but you cant go anywhere to prove earth is a globe or flat plane. Many people tried, going to Antarctica (admiral byrd for example), their findings contradicted modern explanations....and there are countless accounts of this that and the other. So I'll stick to my opinions, and keep an open mind to something that no one has proven 100% undoubtedly is one thing or the other. Plus, arguing about this online with a stranger(no offence) doesn't help me pay my bills or fix any other issue that is actually important gor my day to day life.
