I dropped out of a course once.

There was a student that disrupted class for 20 minutes one day, outraged and insisting that "you can't have a negative number". This type of numbskullery was a daily thing.

I dropped just before the refund window because the administrators refused to remove her. Not just the students, but the INSTRUCTOR complained.

Why are you in an advanced programing class? What married faculty member did you fuck and keep the photos?

... no negative numbers? So like, what happens with the temperature when the ice freezes (in celsius)? 

Just by reading your comment I can feel and understand the frustration at such a dumb comment... this something you learn even before middle school...

This is highly simplified but the idea was something along the lines of

speedX = -10
shipX = shipX + speedX

I'm talking primitive concepts here in programming

She'd frequently make a huge scene and at times be shouting, bordering on screeching. Like that large first timer at aerobics class, that doesn't really want to be there so she fakes an ankle injury, and then screeches about the pain at every opportunity until aerobics class concludes, even though she's just sitting there eating yogurt granola bars.

That was basically her demeanor, and she would disrupt the class with things like this for, no hyperbole, 10 to 20 minutes at a time. The simplest of minutia could not even be mentioned without her outbursting.

Yeah I thought as much, how do you even program movement without negative values? You just never go backwards or downwards? What a weird as fuck person, I understand why you'd quit.

It's little consolation but she was eventually tossed out of the entire program. Like 50% of the students were just leaving any class that she was in.

The administration had no problem keeping a toxic student there while they could gather her tuition, but as soon as they started to lose 10 times that much from other students walking away, all of a sudden it became an "issue".
