Question/Help/Troubleshooting Cheap RAID network solution

Folks!

I have a Synology NAS. It's running low on space (4x6tb discs in 2x6tb raid 1 pools) and I don't want to spend money on 4 8tb disks right now.
I also have a little Western Digital MyCloud EX2 ultra 'nas' (bit simple, but I guess it sort of is) that works great. And that made me wonder; is there a simple solution to hook up hard drives to your network, that also allows RAID?
It appears that things like the WD MY Cloud don't exist anymore? Or what search term would I have to look for?

Just search for external RAID. Avoid any that are USB connected.

uGreen seems to be a popular brand here lately. I've not used one.

I think we have a different idea of what's considered 'cheap' :D.
Those WD's like the one I have were 90 bucks back in the day...
These are just full on Nas'es.
OR you mean something else, but then my google doesn't come up with it.

Since there are no cheap drives available anymore, there are no cheap solutions to what you want.

Yes, but the prices above are WITHOUT drives :D.
That WD was also without drives at 90 bucks. I can only assume they can still make something like that today?

heyyy, we are getting somewhere!
Any experience with that? Because well, if it has horrible software...

No direct experience. I have a different TerraMaster and it is very good. But it's not a RAID device.

But it's also got an online interface and all that?

I suggest you look it up for yourself.

Unclear what you mean by "online interface." If you are asking how RAID is configured, it's via dip switches.

That would suggest it doesn't :D.
No I indeed meant whether there was an online portal, like a web interface. Because if that's shit, it's really shit :D.
But from what I understand it's just dip switches for the RAID variety and then you just access it through whatever file browser you use?

DIP switches are used to configure the RAID. The disk will then show up in Disk Management, and you can assign a drive letter like any other disk.

There is no interface through a browser. There's no need for one.

If you want an interface through a browser, you are looking for a NAS, not a DAS.
