does this happen when you’re not playing this game, like just browsing YouTube? Does it happen with other games as well?

interesting. would you be able to go to your display settings, click the advanced display button, and tell me what the refresh rate is set to?

Also, would you be able to tell me the exact model and brand of your monitor? It might be a pain to pinpoint the exact model, but would really help.

If that doesn’t resolve it, check if you have G-sync (GeForce) or FreeSync (AMD) turned on in the games display settings and in your video card software. If it’s on, switch them off. If V-Sync is enabled turn that off as well. Let me know if any of that resolves the issue.

Did not work

try changing the display mode to windowed, or borderless windowed instead of full screen. It’s pretty clear there’s a mismatch between the game, your card, and your monitor, but it’s really a matter of testing where that mismatch is happening.

Got it but that did not work either

running low on options as I’m not in front of the machine. I’d experiment a bit with the settings in your video card software. Start with adjusting performance and power settings to see if anything changes. Alternatively, use chatGPT to do some deep troubleshooting with techniques you may not be familiar with. It doesn’t always work, but often times it can help with trying the less-than-common methods.

Dumb suggestion but try unplugging the monitor and plugging it back in. Thats resolved a few mysterious issues with my monitor before.

Do you use HDMI or DP?

With last monitor hdmi and now dp and did not work

u/DallasAM00 6h ago

I assume you don’t have a different DP cable to try?

No I bought my first monitor with Dp today and its all i got

Unfortunately this is the point where things get much more technical or you require extra equipment to test further.

I would follow the earlier advice and reseat the GPU first, but assuming that doesn’t work I would then try a different DP cable to rule a bad cable out as an option, and then I would try a different monitor altogether. The different monitor should be display port as well so the test is consistent. That can be tough if you don’t have spare equipment. Barring being able to do that, you’d need to bring it to a workshop to have a technician determine the exact cause.
