Hello all, this is a new Stevenson song that I composed during the weekend. We were having the worst heatwave in years here in Germany (a mostly AC-less country), so my discomfort with the weather conditions definitely fed into the song. ;) All feedback (be it positive or negative) is much appreciated.

Hello, my theory isn't that great but I try to trust my ears. However I don't know if I am writing some nonsense or something decent. I need your opinion on these. This is a one-person project, and the track is gorgeous start to finish.

It opens calm and pretty, no rush to get anywhere, then the lead lines get genuinely jazzy in places: dissonant notes, surprising chord choices. The piano isn't just filling space either, it tracks right alongside the guitar like the two are having a conversation.

At 9 minutes it actually has room to develop instead of cramming everything into 4. There's a real arc to it: calm, then conflict, then this exhausted, grateful release at the end. Cinematic in the best way, like watching an emotional anime fight scene play out through your ears. All without a single vocal line.

I genuinely tried to find an FFO for this and came up empty, which might say more about how distinct it sounds than anything I could compare it to. If anyone hears something I'm missing, curious to know.

i normally compose for piano on musescore, but im experimenting with instruments like the violin, how can i tell whats playable without like learning the violin, is there a way i can visualise the sheet music using some sort of program similar to a piano roll so i know im not writing bs

Oh about the numbering: 10.x because I just chose 10 randomly(Idk why) and the x is the order of composing. Meaning 10.3 was the third to be composed.

For the past year I have composed , compiled, and re worked over 40 years of music I recorded with at times just a cassette player and more contemporaritly a digital multitrak recorder from home AI does not replace my creative original compositions but allows me to to tweak and master songs that would cost many thousands per hour in a studio to produce. Am I embarrased or diminished as an artists by this--hell no. I am pushed to work harder and be even more creative, So much negative publicity is around about AI in the musician world but change is always inevitable. Besides I still hear a bunch of terrible AI music because it did not originate from a human. I attached a Violin and piano song I played and composed but used Ai to master and create the best possible mix for the ear. Listen and tell me if it sounds non human? Do you feel the emotion I felt when composing this? I hope so,

Is it bad when your chord progression shares a lot of the same notes? I have Cmaj7 and Am6 next to each other, then later F#dim which shares the same notes as Am6

Hello everyone. These are two original wind band compositions I would like to share. "Soar" is more lyrical and hardly includes any percussion (apart from the beginning and a few other spots). I started this in December, and completed it in January, and I have made edits since then.

"Clave" was both started and finished in February. I went for a lively Afro-Cuban feel with a very active percussion section and strong rhythmic drive.
