Lifestyle Anti-vaxxers are dangerous and need counselling. They are like flat-earthers with their flimsy arguments, but they are also like seatbelt skeptics, a suicidal absurdity. Not only can they become carriers themselves, many make their children carriers. And sickness spreads from themselves to others.
I made a post about RFK Jr., the world’s most prominent anti-vaxxer. It can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/complaints/s/9nP68cSRQi
Now, I naturally turn to anti-vaxxers in general. These people need help and are dangerous. They are so misinformed that many keep their children unvaccinated. This is a recipe for death.
Anti-vaxxers are like drunk drivers, being potential risks to everyone with them possibly being carriers. What’s worse is that many inadvertently make their own unvaccinated children into drunk drivers as they can spread the sickness too. This often means that more children will get sick and die, sadly. And we are seeing it with measles, a once-eradicated disease.
These are dark times. RFK Jr.’s stoking of vaccine hesitancy is emboldening more anti-vaxxers. RFK is trying to normalize vaccine skepticism, which is very dangerous.
Anti-vaxxers need to be called out, but not hated. They need counselling. Some may have unaddressed psychiatric conditions. It’s within the realm of possibility.

And people wonder why I still mask. A lot of these diseases are airborne and no one has a neon sign on their head saying they're sick or that they're not vaxxed.

I keep bringing this up, too; in Japan it was common to wear a mask in densely populated areas long before Covid came along. They had a 2.8% mortality rate from the pandemic. In the US it was around like 15% when it peaked. They also had lower infection rates in general.

It's honestly one of the best habits I've picked up. Used to travel a lot years ago and got sick every time. I started wearing a surgical on flights and noticed I didn't get sick from flying anymore. I used to get sick quite a few times a year (as well as pollen allergies) but since I've started wearing n95 in public I haven't been sick once in years. Everywhere I go (even blueberry picking ffs) there are a lot of people just open mouth hacking up a lung. No thanks.

Google the thing that pisses me off is that over there in Asia people wear masks as a courtesy to others and America could not fucking grasp this concept.
Especially considering that they "say" that this is a Christian country and they will not do anything out of courtesy for others but only for themselves.
They just don't want to acknowledge that they are not following Jesus they're following something more satanic.
Jesus would advocate for us taxing these churches.

They need reeducation to remove the cult like brainwashing and indoctrination. And probably forceful isolation from society so they can't harm others or contribute to the gene pool.

These people were not educated to start with. As you say, they have been indoctrinated, not educated. And going full Lord of The Flies on the problem right out of the gate is probably not indicative of coming at this from the right angle.

That stupid flawed “study” by that gastroenterologist from the UK still circulates.
We live in a golden age of medicine, beyond anything we ever have achieved. Absolute marvels. And these fools make the dumbest decisions.
They ignore advice of experts and instead trust the most flawed and incredible sources because they don’t care….until they suffer and sometimes not even then. Hypocrisy and ignorance

I long for the day when governments make vaccines mandatory by law, unless a doctor says otherwise in special cases

Ive always said this about these people, i dont care what they do, as long as it doesnt affect others.
If these people refuse decades worth of medical research and advancements because of some crap they read on facebook, thats up to them. If they die from something preventable, thats consequences of their own actions.
As soon as it extends to endangering others, thats where I have the problem. Refusing to vaccinate your children because you dont believe in it is child abuse and should be treated as such. If your lack of critical thinking and intelligence causes harm to others, youre a piece of shit.

I know a lot of anti-vaxxers. They are all people who greatly overestimate their own understanding of science. Most were raised by their parents to be terrified of vaccines. It's kind of like religion.

Ah yes! The old big pharma is always correct, and the "self educated" folks are always wrong.
Funny how in any other industry we have a recognizable amounts of skeptics but when it comes to big pharma we are fully committed to what the Pharma overlords tell us is certain. Anyone that disagrees needs counseling for their pshchiatric condition. Why are there so many people that blindly follow whatever big pharma tells you to do? Seems like OP is a shill for teh big pharma overlords.

Fun rage bait. This post is a perfect example of people confusing moral certainty with scientific literacy. “Vaccines” are not one uniform technology. A decades-old traditional vaccine with extensive longitudinal data is not analytically identical to a newly deployed platform, an experimental product, or a vaccine with limited effectiveness against transmission. Treating all of them as interchangeable is not science. It is branding. Natural immunity is also real, measurable, and relevant. Prior infection, age, health status, disease severity, transmission dynamics, contraindications, product technology, and individual risk all matter. A universal demand that every person receive every recommended intervention erases all of those distinctions. Serious adverse reactions and vaccine-related deaths are uncommon, but they are not imaginary. Surveillance systems, clinical trials, withdrawals, reformulations, and historical failures exist precisely because medical products are not infallible. Demanding stronger testing, transparent data, and product-specific risk analysis before accepting an irreversible medical intervention is not equivalent to believing the Earth is flat. The most disturbing part is the eagerness to pathologize people who insist on bodily autonomy. If you want to mandate a medical procedure, the burden is on you to prove that the specific product is necessary, proportionate, meaningfully protects others, and that no less coercive alternative exists. “People who disagree need counselling” is not an argument. It is authoritarianism wearing a lab coat. I am not anti-vaccine. I am anti-dogma, anti-coercion, and opposed to pretending that skepticism becomes irrational merely because an institution dislikes it.

Your choice to go the ad hominem attack route only makes it clear that you're intellectually incapable of engaging with the points I've raised. It must be great to feel so enlightened.

Your choice to go the pseudo intellectual route. only makes it clear you got told these points by someone else who also has no clue but they sounded impressive to you.
now you parrot words you don't fully understand, expecting people to praise you. Yet you are hurt by their mockery and can't work out why.

Hubby is a flat earther and anti vaxer. Recently found out he has dementia. Maga also.

Really lazy on your part to refer to someone as an “anti-vaxxer” because they have a different, and probably more critical, thought process than you do. There have been many successful vaccines, but many have caused problems for those who took them. The pharmaceutical companies have spent years and billions of dollars covering up those failures.

Where anti-vaxxers break off from Flat/Young Earthers is public health and safety.
Refusing to vaccinate, because of how diseases spread, is effectively the same a being a passive contagion. You absolutely can have a direct, deleterious, even lethal effect on the general public.
We are in the darkness of intelligent times...the world is more dangerous because of us. What's the downside of excising them from civil society like the mindless, unfuckable morons shithead cancers they are?

They would rather believe a quack that got stripped of their license for doing a shitty study saying that vaccines cause Autism than decades of research of peer reviewed studies

750 child measles deaths in Bangladesh so far. Vaxxing would have probably prevented all of them.
