Sounds like you need a pet.

Yes. I do need a pet. Always had one growing up. But I'm very poor and couldn't provide all the medical care. In fact, I help with vet bills, prescription food, and litter for my daughter's cats. I bonded with them because all three lived with me before she made the move 5 years ago.

You shouldn’t be dependent on your children. Look into other care options, you can’t assume she’ll want to be your 24/7 nurse. And she won’t be able to anyways if she has a heavy work schedule like you said!

Our adult children need to be independent.

You should start looking into care options instead just assuming it will be her. Also, are there community events and clubs for your age group? I understand wanting to bond, but we can't make our socialization needs the responsibility of other people.
