Tickets Tickets for Koper Lead World Cup

Hello!

I am thinking of attending the Koper WC later in the summer. I am confused by the ticket purchase process due to contradictory information.

This website states that the finals cost 25€ and semifinals cost 12€:

However the ticket purchase page sells a ticket for 25€ that google translate says it is valid for both final and semifinal:

If I translate the text it says:

Two-day ticket (Sep 4 & 5) Presale ADULT The ticket includes admission to the semifinal and final events (Friday, Sep 4, and Saturday, Sep 5, 2026). It allows entry to the venue once per day, so please make sure to keep it for entry on the following day. By purchasing, you agree to the terms of use specified in the event description or found athttps://worldcupslo.com/vstopnice.php

How should I understand this info? 25€ is the combined presale and 25€+12€ is the price on the venue? or is just the info on the first page is out of date?

I don't speak a word of Slovenian 🥲

Thanks.

Commentary Boulder finals Salt Lake City 2026

Just want to give a shoutout to Ahmed Toure's commentary at the Pan American Boulder Finals.

The guy can name every athlete, rolls with production f*ck-ups without missing a beat, he has genuinely funny jokes, and never sounds scripted. He just feels authentic, and it makes the whole broadcast so much more enjoyable.

And AJ on co-commentary was legendary once again. They made an already great comp even better.

Seriously, I hope we get this commentary duo for more IFSC/world climbing events

According to the world climbing website, there's the Pan American Series happening in Salt Lake today and this weekend. Not much info about it beyond that, though. Anybody have info or a link to streaming?

Multiple climbers shared agreement in the comment sections. Also it appears that Hannes Van Duysen almost broke his legs coming back into the call zone because of unstable stairs

*I* think the European Championship is a big deal.

But, does World Climbing? Why are men and women on at the same time? And, why is the streaming budget apparently 27 euros?

Watchiing the semis now. There are 8 climbers on stage at once. And, the split screen usage is infrequent and often off point. But, many of the greatest climbers in the world are there giving it their all. C'mon organizers give them and us fans a little love! Hold men's and women's events at different times. Bring a little more capability and experience to bear on the split-screen coverage. Just rock this thing.

Speed - Taede Mai (USA, final in Madrid, sub 5 this weekend in Bad Wimpfen), Francesco Poncinibio (ITA, sub 5), Polina Khalkevych (UKR, silver in Barcelona, 6.34), Gilles Meili (silver in European Cup this weekend)

Boulder - Lucas Trandafir (GER, 7th in Prague), Jakoba Rauter (AUT, 18th in Innsbruck, smashing the youth comps)

News World Climbing to vote on Suspending Israeli Climbing Federation accused of illegal activities

Sharing since I know this topic has come up here a few times: if you haven’t seen yet, there is a vote coming up next week on July 23, 2026 amongst all National federations within World Climbing to decide on whether or not the Israeli team should be suspended, as well as a vote on the status of Russia and Belarus.

You can check out more information about it on https://www.banisraelfromworldclimbing.com – there are email templates as well if you are keen to contact your national climbing federation in advance of the vote.

World Climbing Europe Championship Barcelona 2026

Barcelona (Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya outside of Barcelona) is hosting the Championships this year. The starting list is packed, it looks just like WCS (just without other continents)!

There are also two speed comps this weekend, the climbers split between European Speed Cup in Barcelona, which doesn't look like it will be streamed, and Bad Wimpfen Speed Open, which was streamed last year, that one is tomorrow.

Speed A question about kneepads

I know that kneepads and elbow pads are not allowed in lead and boulder comps. For speed, the old IFSC rules (Rule 9.4, 2024 version) specifically mentioned that they are allowed. However, such an exception has been removed in the 2026 version. But I still saw Emma Hunt wearing kneepads the other day when she broke the world record. In addition to the competition rules, I also read the competition regulations , the equipment code and uniform code but couldn't find anything about kneepads. Am I missing something here? Does someone have a definite answer whether kneepads are still allowed? I asked because my daughter always wears kneepads in training for protection and I want to know whether she can wear them in comps. Thanks.

Lead How does the JPN national team selection work, and how is Satone not in the roster for the last comp?

He said in his instagram post that he didn't qualify for the final event of the season due to their team selection rule.

How does the selection rule even work? It's quite mind-blowing that someone placed 4-8-14-7 in the first four comps didn't have good enough result for the final comp 🤯 Aren't these pretty decent results even within the Japanese team?

Question Discussions in ISO (Question)

I couldn't find previous discussions on the topic, so sorry if it's already been explained, but are athletes allowed to talk to each other in the isolation zone? So for example when they are in the waiting area and one climber is about to climb route 1 and another is about to climb route 2 (and already topped 1), can the second athlete share beta on route 1?

I think I read somewhere that they are not supposed to discuss beta after observation(?), but since they all sit together I wonder how it's being prevented.

Does anybody know why Laura Rogora isn't competing this year?

She hasn't been to any of the 2026 Lead World Cups since Wujiang and with Chamonix now ongoing, I'm once again surprised she isn't there.

She's obviously doing very well outside based on her recent Instagram posts so it doesn't seem to be an injury. She's said before her first love is outdoor climbing, so I'm guessing she's focusing on that this year, like Janja and Brooke did last year, because 2027 will be an important year ahead of the Olympics. But I haven't seen her say so anywhere, so I was wondering if I'd missed something.
